Here's the thing: I bought my Raven, Dren, Sever, and Dragonfly BPO's to have suits that never run out. Same with my Plasma Rifle, Scrambler Pistol, Swarm Launcher, Shotgun, and SMG. I didn't spend money to have them be EVE BPO's. I also didn't buy them to be skins, trophies, or achievements. That is the problem when a company sells something that they no longer wish to honor; you get a lot of people saying "uhh, I paid for this." Considering there is going to be no Aurum gear that lets you get ahead in the progression (meaning all current Aurum gear is basically null and void), there are going to be some extremely unhappy people when Legion transfers. I will be one of them.

But this is more to do with the fact that AUR is real money, whereas ISK... is not.
Absolutely, 100% agree. In DUST, money doesn't matter really because everything is from NPC and it is infinite. In Legion where things are actually going to be limited , the rich will have a huge advantage. You will have people selling Shield Extenders for a high amount because people with 50 million can afford them while the new player is screwed.
Money shouldn't transfer because you are going to have the hyper rich having 80+ million rather than billions. Even more if they have alts. Say Legion is green lit now and it takes one year until money will transfer. For every alt you start now you would transfer over 8.76 million ISK. Say they are like certain people that started 20 alts the day open beta started (16 months ago, 485 days), adding the 365 days to transfer would make it 20.4 million per alt, 408 million with just alts.

So what do you plan to do with BPOs that are now going to be made redundant by CCP Z's idea of making all suits prototype and bpo? No idea. It is a crappy situation because BPO's were bought to never run out but now all dropsuits never run out. For AUR ones, it is not that bad. A refund works. However, the Dren and Mercenary pack is a stickier situation as that was straight cash for BPO's. My guess is that they will become skins and other skins will be made available. No matter what happens, I know I ain't gonna be happy.
Also, where did Z state that all Dropsuits are prototype level? I missed that one.

CCP Z mentioned it in the Progression Presentation at Fanfest 2014. It's posted on CCP's YouTube channel. I only heard him say BPO rather than Prototype BPO. One implies all dropsuits are the same and the other implies that all dropsuits may vary but are still nonetheless BPO. My hearing is bunk though so maybe I have missed it several times.
I do know that each dropsuit is going to have different stats so as to make each one useful as I explicitly heard Z say that. Not sure about Prototype though.
Cheers.
