There will be an Accelerated SP Event coming up in the next few weeks though :)
Are you freaking kidding me? You guys suck. I'm done being nice about your guys participation. First, you send in CCP Pok+Žmon Guy to ask us questions on what we want to see and then you confirm you don't have the manpower for events? This is absurd. How the hell are you going to deliver balance in other areas if you can't even do an event?

I play D3, Child of Light, and solo games
Also, Proto Trolling until I'm broke...

How the hell are you going to deliver balance in other areas if you can't even do an event? Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty unhappy with the situation too, but the logistics behind running and administrating an event are a much bigger task than balancing weapons and the like; the hard part of the latter is figuring out the how and the why. From a technical standpoint it's pretty simple, you just change some numbers around server-side and shazam you're good to go. Keeping track of awards and sp earned for every player during an event though is much more fiddly. Which is a shame. I loved the heavy/scout event, it got me into an entirely new playstyle.
I do database programming. You create a SP to audit and update toons. Events are something I can run bymyself in minutes. Telling me that changing the radius of let us say...a grenade blowing up is easier than an event is absurd. That's like saying climbing one step is easier than climbing 3. They are in the same category of ease.
If it is, at all, any more complicated then what I described then CCP definitely has terrible management AND terrible developers. What developer can't come up with an audit SP to run on toons? That's absurd. It's the basic test I give potential new hires in interviews. "I need you to create an audit SP that stores the data from X,Y, and Z tables into View 'J' and check 'J' for columns 'A' and 'B' where B is the constant. After the check I need it to update Table 'L' in Boolean on whether column 'A' of view 'J' was equal or greater than column 'B' of that same view. The Boolean output should be in new colum 'Z' in table 'L'l".
Anyway, it isn't hard.
I'll tell you what happened.
CCP didn't know how to make a lot of stuff for the game so at the beginning they outsourced a lot of code. It all half sucked. Over time they lost the source of compiled code or never got it in the first place. They don't know how to make some of that outsourced compiled code from scratch and this has built up over and over and over for the past 2+ years. Now they have a game they can't fix b/c they honestly don't have the technical ability to do it given it's current circumstance. In addition, they probably have some licensing issues with some of the initial rendered products of the game. For example, if I pay company X to make my Y number of guns then Company X might have requirements for the developer to use them. Without thinking the developer company takes the deal and now you can't copy and paste guns and change a few things because it would breach agreements with other companies.
I've seen it before. What is sad is that they are going to do it again for Legion and everyone is getting their hopes up thinking it will be better. They have bad habits and follow zero standardized and existing models that have breaded wild success for other companies
If I could stop drinking when I play Dust then I would stop buying AUR but I really like not spending that SP for complex Kinkats and just buying them with AUR. Sigh.
