I have a 19 button, 16400 DPI gaming mouse beast.
It comes with speed settings and modes etc.
I'm not interested in the speed settings as that would be for if I was playing competitively as a match requirement.
Anyway I wanted to ask people what they think the limits are?.
What if I accidentally press speed up and get banned for an honest mistake?.
What if the norm in legion will be 'if you don't have a mouse like this then you can't join our corp'?
People are going to completely go to town with mouses just like mine though.
Do we or the devs think this is acceptable?
Should people get banned or shall I just use my mouses full potential and annihilate most people easy mode?
Will it be a case of 'welcome to new Eden htfu'?
Oh and I don't use my mouse for dust. Such things do not go into console USB ports.
I for one do not want to see 'mouse requirements' on corp recruitment pages even though I wouldn't be affected.

Some capabilities.
Adjustable DPI range from 50 - 16400
Macro definition can record 59 actions in one button
Combo key function adjustable click times and delay times of key
Customise the function of 18 buttons
Memory of 5 groups working mode switchable with 1 button
Imagine a macroed logi spammer at a supply depot lol.
A macroed tanker could switch seats and fire all 3 guns at once almost.

I get extra buttons, but all those macros are not necessary imo lol. DPI is insane as well imo
But I doubt you'd get banned for simply speeding up your DPI.

I know, I don't use any of it but the buttons.
I'm on about the people who most definitely will utilise all of it, it will be monstrous.

Easy to limit client side with programming class rule sets like. Switching seats must take 1 second no matter how much u spam, andtrigger command event only executed if 2 ticks has passed.
Its way movement animations double over as hard l+Ħmits on how fast you can do things

As long as you don't use tap fire macros you're welcome anywhere.
Check corp tag.

Semi-automatic weaponry should be balanced with fire macros in mind to be honest. Just like how weapons in dust have to be rebalanced due to 'turbo controllers'. Should be easy enough to design your rule sets to prevent tap fire macros being any use.
OP: Mouse DPI is not some exploit, there will be a hard cap on movement speed built into the game and how you reach that is no concern of CCPs. |

This guy seems to be doing just fine with a regular mouse.

I hope this thread is a troll, if not....
Well, you ca use whatever you want, if you feel that will bring you any advantage, which i doubt.
Macro keys are pretty useless for FPS. Anyway, they just add convenience, and I personally perform better keying my keyboard then clicking the additional buttons in my mouse.
About the DPI, you cant use in a practical way all that DPI in normal conditions. High DPI mouses are mostly a marketing hype tool. What DPI you use comes down to personal preference, but certainly the more DPI you use, the less return you get.
People who might benefit the most of high DPI are those with really big resolutions, like having triple monitors.

True.
I woudl say the most important thing is a confortable mouse. All else is light and whistles to yield higher profits from people with money to spend on the shiny stuff.
But in all reality, a good, regular mouse, will do just fine.
This thing, to this date, is still my preferred mouse:

No harm in voicing (lol) a concern mate eh?.
And if you think macros in an fps like legion would be mediocre then you do not deserve your corp tag.........
Edit: oh wait, was you trolling?.

Macro buttons are not of concern, really.
If you need them, well, wish the best to you. To me it matters not. |

I have no idea why anyone would willingly use a 19 button MMO mouse for FPS and most professional level FPS players use DPI seetings way below 1k.
People have trouble reliably hitting close/minimize buttons on the screen with my 3.1k DPI setting. What good is a mouse that lets you turn 360 degrees within 1" of physical movement?
RogueTrooper 2000AD wrote:I guess I am worrying a bit much. Absolutely. The vast majority of users doesn't operate on a level where differences between two fully functional mice are of any significance and those who do certainly aren't looking for impractically high resolution sensors or a dozen buttons they don't have anything important to map on.

I also got such an extreme DPI mouse but I just have it set around 1500 dpi, that just fits perfect for me, couldnt aim with a faster mouse.
I got 2 buttons on my mouse and thats pretty much all I need, I will use those keys for my equipment in Legion I guess, or maybe to switch faster to my sidearm, but we will see :)
