so I recently started playing and I have to say I really love what ccp did with the game tanks and heavies designed to need 3-4 people to kill them is some brilliant tactitioning, if you run 4 tanks, all covering each other, the enemy team needs 13-16 players to fight them off all running AV, it's so ******* legit that leaves 0 players on the enemy team left to deal with the other 12 players on your team who are running other ****. Likewise it takes like 2-4 people to kill a heavy so if you have 4 heavies and say 2 logis BAM, that forces the enemy team to group up on you 16-6 leaving you with 10 teammates to do literally whatever the **** they want uncontested. It's brilliant role-based balancing completely ignorant of team population restrictions |

nonsense it's great, I love to see what devs do when they work on the first real game they've ever actually tried to make the weirdest and most illogical **** happens ;) |

I guess that just shows the average IQ of the pilot community...
it is pretty hilarious people think that works against anything but the most dumbass tank pilots imaginable. especially considering tanks can outrun swarm missile launcher attacks, let alone some slow ass cloaked infantry who require you to NOT drive your tank for like 10-15 seconds to be able to get set up 3-4 REs and a flux grenade to kill you with |

cloaked scouts at best are functional against heavies. And while it's true your only real bet against heavies is outranging them, given the nature of objectives in this game that is rarely an option you can decide on outside of the ambush gamemode where everyone has to funnel onto points for control of the hill wherein only CQC exists. in my experience anyways, so you're forced to heavy/logi or cross your fingers and hope you get lucky with a scout/shotty combo |

(Heavies DO fly!) you know what, I might as well give forges a shot maybe they're the smoking gun I havn't noticed |

and thus the question is raised... which heavy dropsuits are the most frequently used at the proto level? |

well, that's why I'm curious should I grab some advanced rail rifles or scrambler rifles to deal with the majority of heavies? |

Ryme Intrinseca wrote: I'd go so far as to say that a cloaked scout is bad versus a heavy. Heavies actually use their eyes - no active scanner and pathetic passive scans - so they're the suit most likely to see a cloaked scout, which they'll melt in half a second. With a scout I will beat another scout 95% of the time, but my chances of success vs. a heavy in an enclosed space aren't much better than 50% so I'll switch to a heavy suit if possible.
Agreed, cloaked scout had a bad matchup against a heavy. BUT, the theoretical possibility of success EXISTS, which is why everyone is jumping on it and thinks it's balanced if not OP for scout that it has the potential to kill a HMG heavy up close lol. Try beating a proto heavy with a proto HMG up close with a proto assault rifle in a proto gallente assault suit :( |
