spud buddy wrote:so I recently started playing and I have to say I really love what ccp did with the game tanks and heavies designed to need 3-4 people to kill them is some brilliant tactitioning, if you run 4 tanks, all covering each other, the enemy team needs 13-16 players to fight them off all running AV, it's so ******* legit that leaves 0 players on the enemy team left to deal with the other 12 players on your team who are running other ****. Likewise it takes like 2-4 people to kill a heavy so if you have 4 heavies and say 2 logis BAM, that forces the enemy team to group up on you 16-6 leaving you with 10 teammates to do literally whatever the **** they want uncontested. It's brilliant role-based balancing completely ignorant of team population restrictions
Tanks, call a rail tank. Heavies, call a cloaked scout.

a single scout can kill one or more logis that are repping heavies, then turn around and kill the heavies too
REs gets all of then in one boom. |

Heavies actually use their eyes - no active scanner and pathetic passive scans - so they're the suit most likely to see a cloaked scout, which they'll melt in half a second. With a scout I will beat another scout 95% of the time, but my chances of success vs. a heavy in an enclosed space aren't much better than 50% so I'll switch to a heavy suit if possible.
Agreed, cloaked scout had a bad matchup against a heavy. BUT, the theoretical possibility of success EXISTS, which is why everyone is jumping on it and thinks it's balanced if not OP for scout that it has the potential to kill a HMG heavy up close lol. Try beating a proto heavy with a proto HMG up close with a proto assault rifle in a proto gallente assault suit :(
I run the dragonfly scout g-1. My passive scans do work to find them. If they see me they melt me, true. But my 7k (20k non bpo) isk has taken out quite a few adv and proto heavy suits. Have not even reached proficiency on the shottie. When i do ill ohk most light/med frames, three shot the average heavy i hope. |

I guess that just shows the average IQ of the pilot community... For the first time I have to agree with you. Flux grenades have to be cooked and tossed while RE's are placed on the weak spot of the tank. The amount of time that takes and the ignorance of the pilot to let that happen is awfully ridiculous. The fact that someone can cook a flux nade and toss it after getting 3 re's on the weak spot is way too time consuming. I've tried it numerous times. I need insta damage to the shields and that requires AV nades. That being said, putting on RE's requires putting one on and sometimes running away and then putting another one on and repeat until 3 are on the weak spot (at least 1 has to be on the weak spot 9 out 10 times). Then toss the 2 AV nades OR wait for a forger to take out its shields and detonate.
Yes its work, but nothing more pleasing than instakilling tanks.
