At the moment, DUST 514 doesn't seem unfair or pay to win but spending money does give you a tangible benefit. Boosters are a clear and obvious "spend money to get advantage." 400,400 SP a week if you log on everyday for the 6k bonus and just cap out. That number goes to 579,600 a week with Boosters and logging on. It isn't a substantial benefit but it is a benefit. It is about 6 million SP to get into Prototype for a role. The difference between boosters and no boosters is 15 weeks or just a little longer than 10 weeks. If Legion is going to be even longer to hit the higher tiers, to be the equivalent of "full prototype", the time saved won't be a few weeks it'll be several months.
None of the "fairest, none pay to win systems" I have seen allow this kind of advantage. The generally follow Guild Wars 2 and League of Legends; you are buying convenience (gathering tools that don't need to be replaced, more bag space, etc.) or just pure cosmetic things like skins or hats. With Lord of the Rings, it is often criticized as being Pay to Win because you can buy stat adders or re-rolls for weapon stats that are nigh impossible to get without spending money which means that with the same amount of time invested in the game, the person that spends more money gets a clear advantage. How can Legion be "the fairest, none pay to win system ever see(n) in a free to play game" if Boosters exist?
If Boosters are going away, what happens to the large amount of Boosters that I have saved up? What about my Aurum equipment or BPO's? Thanks for any information you can share.

There's no "higher tiers" for anything anymore/ Also, that's the point of boosters; nothing wrong with that. Wanna Go free? it'll take you longer to get X. Nothing wrong with that tbh, once you get to new stuff, you'll be more prepared than someone who just grinds with boosters to get everything as fast as possible.

I don't have a problem with Boosters. They do give an obvious advantage but it isn't too bad to the point that it is Pay to Win.
However, it was the whole "we are making the most fair, none pay to win free game ever" that has me questioning where Boosters stand in this. The most fair, none pay to win games don't offer that kind of advantage like Boosters do. Along with the "leapfrogging" bit it could mean that Boosters get axed. I know Z has not said anything in that regards but clarification would be great is all.

Exactly. We're going to have to wait and see the real plan. I had suggested that the AUR equipment carries a stigma of pay-to-win, and that CCP might make more money selling boosters and letting us resale them in the open market (like PLEX).
