ok I have a few questions I need help with I'm struggling with the new meta in 1.8
laying some grounds, suits and weapons I've specced into gallente assault / amarr scout sniper/scrambler/swarm/assault rifle advanced suits and proto weaponry, tons of utility and equipment skills etc.
are assault dropsuits a waste of SP now or is it just me? Heavies drop me in like 1/4 a second, I'm about to delete my fittings involving my gallente assault it's getting so bad even approaching long-range engagements.
How do you kill all these adv/proto heavy/logi teams? They get 15-25% explosive resistance, all those other resistances and all that ehp. and don't tell me "make a proto scout and run proto combat rifles" no that's not a reasonable or excusable method, there's too many people who don't have the SP to deal with that **** like that and it's the only thing that works right now and it's ********
I shot a heavy 3 times in the head today with the proto tactical sniper rifle today, he didn't even go under 66% armor and then just walked away all willy nilly. Each shot was a dead certain headshot great multipliers there. ccp pls if you're going to steal ideas from TF2 don't ******* forget the system of checks and balances to keep the heavy/medic combo balanced relative to the rest of the classes. How do you kill these mother *******?
Right now I've recently skilled into adv cloak + remote explosives and basic shotties, I'm getting desperate to deal with this combo
and why does ccp listen to the community? That's like developer mistake #1 "buff my warrior and nerf paladins who can kill my warrior please" one bad egg spoils a dozen
also skilling into minmatar commando at this point to make my swarms good is pretty ******** but I guess it has to be done, 5 months from now I'll be a real threat to vehicles :)... loljk AV is gimp
Please feel free to answer questions/submit your opinions I'm looking forward to reading replies and possibly learning how to not get ruined by proto heavies |

Okay first things first you already have the equipment you need to deal with this combo (basic RE/Cloak) and an Amarr scout witch has the most stamina in the game. I'd grab one or two kin kats to put in your lows just in case however.
The first thing is target the logi first before the heavy sees you. Once the logi is dead retreat cloak and take a flanking rout around the heavy who should be trying to chase you at this point. <-(this is going to take some creative thinking on your part as each engagement is different.)
Once behind the Heavy decloak and drop an RE at his feet. Strafe like your live depends on it because it dose and activate the RE ASAP. Most People do not have the reaction time to hear the RE drop and get out of the way in a slow moving heavy.
If it is not Possible to get around the heavy your going to need to fall back (because he will chase you for killing his logi) and kite him from range with your ScR.
Never try and take them head on.
You also have a basic shotgun witch is all you need if you don't want to play with RE's. Grab a long range sidearm to kill the Logi (a ScP or MAGSEC works) and fallow the steps above only this time when you get behind the heavy just shoot him in the back.
Your major problem with the shotgun will be Caldari heavies simply because of their 15% resistance to plasma weapons. They will take the most shots.
Remember when using a shotgun Strafe is your friend to avoid HMGs. You have a small hit box so use it to your advantage.

Kinetic Catalyzers. They make you sprint faster. They are in the same module branch as stamina I believe.
