That's not how it works.
Let's say they wanted to throw in the amarr Scrambler Lance. The laser animation would be identical to the LR, the gun itself would be the same outer design of a gun already existing, say the Forge. Now they are going to tweak the damage profiles to match their idea, make it stronger the LR and give it increased damage to vehicles.
Now why would they make a gun that's just a stronger LR for Heavys? More then likely not going to happen.
What he is referring to is they will be able to make new "variants" of currently existing guns, since variants are replicas of the original with tweaked stats, this is easily achieved.
Do not expect to see a Shiny new toy, just new variants.

While I enjoy CCP Rats posts and thoughts, this "transparency" isn't news. It's the same message you've been delivering the past couple of weeks, just with someone most people like at the helm.
You're sticking with the plan that a large chunk of your player base despises, then getting a hot chick in a swimsuit to advertise said plan as if it was a new direction, hoping no one notices.
Are you really that concerned on getting money from the few sheep that will have no idea about fan fest? The new players who might come on the forums to investigate a game they like?
I just don't get it to be honest. Perhaps I never will and it's time to move on. |
