I realize now that legion is going to be a flop
CCP is too lazy to balance.
evidence for this: they refuse to add an SP respec option in the market in dust 514. The only logical cause for intentionally rejecting blatantly obvious methods of profit generation are to avoid being forced to balance the game because they have no idea how to do that IE: they'd spend more money trying to balance the game than they'd make from allowing respecs. They realize that everyone will respec to the most abusive and meta **** in the game, forcing them to balance things they'd rather ignore.
On top of that 1.8 is out and it's awful. The balance is completely fubar. CCP can't balance patch an FPS to save their life, seriously, every vehicle in the game outruns the anti vehicle homing missiles, lmao. Legion is going to fail hard. The idea they can get some quick cash grabs from the f2p market on PC is a cute and arrogant notion oblivious of the predacious and superior free to play titles available on the PC. Whatever gimick impulse they might be seeking to taking advantage of with PC players long wanting to try out dust is just downright unsustainable in the face of superior quality in competitive market forces to be faced on the PC market.
tl;dr ccp failed so hard with dust they can't possibly compete with the quality of free to play titles on the PC they haven't had the opportunity to compete with on the ps3.
Please discuss this below I'm looking forward to seeing how other people's opinions on this subject compare to my own. |

of course they're going to say legion is better, it's marketing
But look at their track record for balancing FPS games, dust 514 is in shambles right now |

Sir, I don't think you see the bigger picture here. PC being where the majority of competitive FPS gaming happens is exactly why legion is going to flop. PC gamers don't have to settle for less in the quality of their games like console gamers do. I think you can expect a small following, not as many as planetside 2 but but more akin to warframe's population, don't expect huge success, just minimally viable sustainability. You're not going to pull in players from battlefields, call of duties or counter strikes with your grindy MMO mechanics that supersede absolute player-skill dependence for determining how good you are at the game. |
