I can't help but laugh at the OP. 1.8 is terrible?
Did you not visit these forums for the past several months? 1.8 is mostly compromised of the community's requests of changes. The very same community who complained about scanners after celebrating scanners getting warpoints for scanned kills. The very same community that wanted the AR nerfed, but now wants it buffed. The same community who wanted the RR nerfed, only to turn a blind eye to CR.
So to blame CCP entirely for 1.8 is ignorant of the truth. While not perfect, they have developed this game based around the concerns expressed by the community and they still say CCP is at fault. Hilarious, indeed.
Second, Legion is going to do fine. PC is where the majority of the FPS gaming community comes from. Until Halo 2 reached the kids, the majority of console based gamers knew nothing of FPS titles. In the world of PC, even games that console gamers would consider old and outdated FPS titles, are still being played today with a nice volume of active players.
Legion will do fine. If it is greenlit, it will be the evolution of Dust 514. That plus it going to PC, where CCP have more freedom to craft their vision, will make for a better game. I see Legion getting more support than Dust ever have gotten from its community.

I see Legion getting more support than Dust ever have gotten from its community. have you ever heard of goldeneye for N64 it was pretty much one of the greatest fps titles ever made i understand it doesn't hold up by todays standards but it was pretty much the game that made me want to play fps games. I had DOOM and wolfenstein played them a little Goldeneye I played evryday for like 2 years so we console gamers new about fps titles and sony let ccp do whatever they wanted to dust 514 they did not have to run anything through QA thats why we got all these patches
Of course I know about GoldenEye. I was gaming before then. Back when I was just a little boy with my woodgrain Atari. I also remember going to the library at school, running Wolfenstein through DOS commands.
Still the point remains, MP as we know it today in the console gaming world primarily got its start up from Halo 2. We cannot dismiss that. Most who played Halo 2 never even heard of LAN parties, tournaments; let alone playing a online FPS title. After that game, consoles saw the rise in MP online experiences. It is the reason why when you mention a game has MP, people instantly think of a FPS scenario and rather dismiss it if the MP involves something else than that.
And the last comment about Sony and the QA department...I don't know of any game nowadays that has a patch to be installed throughout its life. Hell, most have a patches on Day 1 release.
Why complain about the patches when games in my youthful days had no way to be patched.
