Project Legion's GD has had more DEV involvement in the past 2 weeks than all of the DUST 514 forums have had combined in the last 6 months
(Announcements & Patch Notes don't count).

Not Really, they're putting more effort into building a new thing than the old thing I remember switching production before, we just were phasing in new equipment and out with the old. it's just changing production

thing is ccp mad false promises is why were all upset, dust or legion, its a fail on both ends. like being stood up on a blind date, were not happy. and to try and keep the community together by releasing something sooner, they make you wait to a said date. thing is, now that you mentioned legioned why have secrets about dust, just spill crap or possibilites as they come up. we all know what ccp wants for the future with legion, but at least dont string dust along, just give intel. like holding back is kinda just being more douchey almost as bad as using a DUST keynote for legion. just tell us now what your gonna do now and untill dust ends n shutsdown , dont try to hold player basis on kid tactics of we will tell u soon on such n such date. if the players dont like it then they will either leave n never touch your game or hold out till legion, but dont have them wait for a pile of nothing or garbage.

There's a reason they are sticking with the UE3 engine : they don't want to start over from scratch. That means they are going to be using some of this "broken down and dying" code you speak of.
I myself am not arguing the difference in difficulty of porting between different platforms. It's moot point for me.
It's the tactics they used to secure money : continuing to promote the game, still talk to us about future developments, created the most events in the shortest amount of time in the history of the game, then literally encouraging you to buy boosters for said events on the forums, hyped us up for the fantastic news of dusts future at fanfest, then saying for the past few months the entire Shanghai team was working on this legion prototype not dust, and Dust will no longer receive any client side updates.
That's the glaring issue I, and others have a problem with. An issue you cannot spin into being something beneficial to us players.
So how about you just stop trying, it isn't cute anymore. |

Fair enough.
If the game is good and they make a ps4 version I'll prolly be there with ya. Who knows what could happen in the 2 years it's gonna take them to develop a build worth "releasing" (and hopefully a build that can legitimately be called a release).
Perhaps by then the distaste for the fact they figuratively mugged their customers for money will have worn off.
Only time will tell if CCP is worth a second glance. |

How long exactly? At least six months for some no doubt.
If it is true that Legion will be based on the guts of Dust514 and nobody fixes Dustt514 then you will have the same problems. Although EVE players are used to that level of non-support it might be alright with them. It definitely is not for 99.99% of the FPS players. Console or PC. Explain TiDi to FPS players and they will never even download Legion, free or not. 
Nobody at CCP cares because we ain't Legionnaires.

Come.. you don't actually expect them to introduce TiDi into an FPS do you? I mean I've had my fair share of facepalms but that is a level of incompetence I can't believe any developer would actually perform at.
We'll continue having caps on the number of players in a 'lobby' (be it an open world district or a contract match), but that number might increase with the better hardware on the PC. |
