Then why is he even chiming in? He's the lowest man on the marketing totem pole.
Anyone from the marketing team needs to vacate themselves from the forums. I assume they are the assholes that thought up the great idea of creating events designed to create a money sink, and convinced the powers that be to wait until fanfest to let us know we spent money on a project no longer in development.
Please go back to your hole and think of more shady business tactics you can use to kill your player base, and leave the forums to your betters. |

So is EVE: Online, and just about every other community in existence that involves living creatures. What's your point? Watching you all freak out over CCP giving us exactly what we wanted is amusing to me. Most players here have no grasp of reality and how these things come to be, they just expect everything to rainbows and unicorn farts and just work out perfectly like a fairy tale. Its just sad, but moderately amusing to watch alll the foaming at the mouth
Dishonesty tends to do that to people.
You have your opinion, and thats fine. Unfortunately you are in the minority.
Also, poor use of the word "exactly". I assume you know it means 100%. Only an idiot would think Dust being abandoned development-wise, and the true vision we were told dust would one day become is moving to the PC is 100% of what the entire community asked for
5/10 though. I would say your troll status is a half breed. |

Not really, no. You don't think developing the game on a system that allows for an easy port achieves that? You think porting a broken, dying code will? You think Sony would ever take that deal in a million years? CCP spends more time right now dumbing down the things they make so that they actually run on the PS3 than they do actually making the stuff. The system is suffocating development, and PC allows them the freedom to create the game we were originally pitched, and to show that to Sony in the hopes of landing a PS4 port, which DUST would NEVER achieve.
Stop acting like they are using all this new code.
There's a reason they are sticking with the UE3 engine : they don't want to start over from scratch. That means they are going to be using some of this "broken down and dying" code you speak of.
I myself am not arguing the difference in difficulty of porting between different platforms. It's moot point for me.
It's the tactics they used to secure money : continuing to promote the game, still talk to us about future developments, created the most events in the shortest amount of time in the history of the game, then literally encouraging you to buy boosters for said events on the forums, hyped us up for the fantastic news of dusts future at fanfest, then saying for the past few months the entire Shanghai team was working on this legion prototype not dust, and Dust will no longer receive any client side updates.
That's the glaring issue I, and others have a problem with. An issue you cannot spin into being something beneficial to us players.
So how about you just stop trying, it isn't cute anymore. |

Carry on, and don't forget to light your torches Fair enough.
If the game is good and they make a ps4 version I'll prolly be there with ya. Who knows what could happen in the 2 years it's gonna take them to develop a build worth "releasing" (and hopefully a build that can legitimately be called a release).
Perhaps by then the distaste for the fact they figuratively mugged their customers for money will have worn off.
Only time will tell if CCP is worth a second glance. |
