One thing I really liked about Valkyrie was the launch-tube effect. It provided a few moments of calm before we were thrown into the action.
I'd like to see something similar in Project Legion, particularly as we move away from static spawn zones and red lines. Those 3-10 seconds that we must wait through each time we spawn could be much better spent giving us the feeling that we really are downloading into a new body and getting jettisoned into the airspace above a battlefield.
I'm talking about a series of interactive sequences that take place each time you spawn, altogether taking up no more than a few seconds:- Waking up inside a clone on board the MCC
- Looking around as your dropsuit is rapidly assembled around you (think Ironman, except MUCH faster... THIS much faster)
- Running towards a launch tube or cynosural portal.
If you went for a launch tube, then you literally get fired out of a cannon towards the planet's surface at extreme velocity. With a fair bit of rocket-assisted air control, you're given quite a bit of control over where you land (though enemy facilities might be shielded to prevent you landing directly on top of them).
If you went for the cynosural portal, then you see that EVE warp-tunnel effect for a little bit before finally arriving at the drop-uplink or CRU.
For bonus points, I'd like this experience to be as interactive as possible. Players should be able to :- Freely look around at all times.
- Melee attack and sprint whenever they're not navigating a menu (skill-shot opportunity: correct timing could speed things up even further).
- Watch the construction equipment responding in real time, assembling their specific items on demand as the player selects them.
Last but not least, the player should have the option to spawn with their vehicle, and ride the RDV down to the planet's surface.

I like all of this, but...

I love all of this, but, well this seems like ccp would say "in the future" thing...
but this would be supremly epic.

Some parts would have to be cut, since putting it to a 3-10 seconds animation would be tough.
