PC vs Console debate needs to stop. Lets all try to collectively make the Legion sub forum a better place than the toxic vitriol that is Dust GD. Please...
To OP: This is simply not going to be able to happen without leaving PS4 out of a big portion of the game unfortunately. The overall goal of this game is to have cross-game play between Legion, Valkyria, and EVE: Online. In order for this to happen, there can only be a single instance of any game connected to tranquility.
So if you want PS4 players to be seperated from PC players, you are essentially ask for PS4 players to not be connected to tranquility. This will lock PS4 players from specialized game modes such as Planetary Conquest, Low-Sec open world gameplay, Null-Sec sovereignty battles, POS boarding, etc. As those assets are only available when the game can be connected to tranquility.
Sorry OP, what you want is just not going to be able to happen. You will be playing cross-platform.
Keep in mind though, the very nature of the game design will deter cheating quite a bit. No one will risk a perman on a toon they have invested a great amount of time and money into. We just need to find a way such that people can't create a million alts and play public matches with veteran players. Going to have to see what kind of solutions they can come up with to help prevent hacking on both a code and game design level.
As a PS4 player you will have some time before a PS4 client is released. I guess just see how bad it is a few months after the PC release and see what they have done about it. |

Obviously a subscription cost would go a certain way in preventing the alt-spam, but I doubt that CCP wants to make Legion subscription based.
Actually you wouldn't even need a subscription cost... just a buy to play license alone would be huge. If you said... its $15 for an access key which comes with $15 in aurum. You have then made it a lot more expensive to hack... that's just not the free to play model though unfortunately.
You know what though... they could make it where you could play the non-pvp sections of the game without any purchases and then ask for a purchase before entering pvp. If explained well I suspect most wouldn't mind if they understood it was an anti-cheat measure.
So... initial game play is free to play, and then contract system requires a 'Mercenary Pack' purchase. Including a bundle of goodies and aurum and such. I could see something like that working really well. |
