This would make it horrendous to balance.
If that's the case, how has EVE done it, and stayed balanced?

EVE is one of the most balanced games I've ever played. Yes there are balance issues, but they aren't as bad as Dust was.

Certain weapons will always overpower others and certain classes of weapons in Eve are literally useless for PvP. The same thing is true for ships, and even racial ships (minmatar vs. caldari is a no contest). I don't know how long you've played Eve, but it has always been far from balanced. EDIT: And even if it was, this would be a pointless conversation. An FPS does not equal a space MMORPG. The effects on Legion would just make it incredibly difficult to balance and add an extra layer of pointless complication to the game.
When I had my old account, any ship I used (which was pretty much everything but Caldari, Titans, or dreds) could win in a fight. Maybe you're just bad?

This is laughable. So you don't use an entire race's class of ships and you claim to be an authority on the subject? No, any ship you used could not win in a fight. Just because you went around looking for noob ships or mission runners or cargo transports doesn't mean you could win against actual good PvP fits. Quit trying to wag your e-peen when you say this, it just makes you look ignorant. Even if you used it against certain PvP ships, congratz, you managed to outclass a few of them. The reality of it is that that doesn't negate the fact that Eve was unbalanced and certain classes of weapons and ammo are horrendous in PvP.
I usually sat in Losec looking for a fight, in which people would accept, die, and fly off in their capsule, in which I would take whatever they had. I didn't star the fight. If they were in mission runners or cargo ships (yes, I got a couple of those fights lol), that's their damn fault. As for the people's fits, never asked, so I don't know how good their fits were, but I've had close calls.
As for me not using Titans and dreds, that's my choice. XL guns don't suit me (I drone and missile boat mostly, with some arty). What's wrong with that?
You never even seen me fight, so how do you know? You just made yourself look like a idiot lol.

So you just admitted that your experience proves absolutely nothing about balance in the game since you know absolutely nothing about the fits that you supposedly fought and that your posts are worthless? Thanks for that. Also, Titans and Dreads aren't racial classes of ships. Try some reading comprehension for the next time you post in this thread. Now since you seem set on discussing a subject that's completely irrelevant to balance in an FPS, would you actually like to bring any real evidence that Eve is balanced other than "Hurr durr, I blew up a lot of ships in low sec! Me real good eve pew pewer!" Besides from the obvious things like what they were shooting at me with or if they had hardeners/boosters on or not, but not the full fit. What, am I supposed to ask now? LOL
You said the full thing. I could use everything but Caldari (didn't get to those yet, had a understanding on how they flew), I just didn't use Titans or Dreds. How you worded it said that I didn't fly all of the ships in a race. Try clearly wording things better.
Also, it's worked in a lot of other games than EVE. You still haven't given a reason as to why it won't.''
Wait, if it doesn't work, why wait this long and still do nothing to remove it? Additionally, why does it keep on working in other games?
Your argument is quite silly tbh.............

You seem to be following the doctrine that balanced means. In an entire roster there will be nothing considered sub-par or useless Which as you say is an impossibility, there will always be something that is worse than something else, so long as variation exsists it will be this way.
I however follow a different doctrine, where In an entire roster there is no specific item, or small group of items that is considerably better than the average effectiveness of the roster. Which is basically, if there isn't a fitting of the month, it's pretty damn balanced.
There is always a fitting of the month in Eve. For a while it was a nano-fitted vagabond. For a while it was a hellcat fit. For a while it was drake fleets. This is because Eve constantly goes through cycles of nerfs and buffs to different ships and certain ships almost always come out as incredibly superior in fleets or solo PvP, which then, unless the opposing fleet specifically fits their entire fleet or ship to counter that exact type of fit, often doesn't stand a chance. Heavy missiles were terrible for the longest time in Eve PvP, so much in fact that literally no one used them except for that short amount of time that Drakes were popular, and they still are probably awful. The eagle comes to mind too, as that ship with railguns of that size just were completely useless, and for the longest time the hull was worth less than the mineral costs themselves since no one wanted to use the ship at all. This is just a product of Eve being an incredibly complicated game that's nigh impossible to get even remotely close to completely balanced. Therefore, this entire argument for Eve using this system just doesn't work at all. The ammo types even further this argument. Typically in any class of weapons (blasters, railguns, lasers, etc.) there are ammo types that never get used at all simply because they're imbalanced completely compared to others, i.e. the range to damage or damage type (thermal, EM, kinetic, explosive, etc.) isn't worth it compared to others. People usually default to scorch vs. conflagration for T2 lasers, for example, just because of the fact that conflagration requires you to get close with already incredibly heavy ships and often isn't worth the damage output they get. Sometimes these ammo types end up getting used regardless in PvE, but in PvP many of them are never used.
Have you ever thought that maybe it's not for that said fit that you're using? guess not.
Anyways, never said that it had to work exactly like in EVE............

You have no idea what you're talking about. You've proven your ignorance on so many levels about Eve PvP in this thread already, and it's fairly obvious to anyone who actually has done extensive PvP in Eve and have played the game long-term. It's really not worth it to take anything you say about it seriously at this point. And if you have more suggestions, then how about making them instead of being a snarky little ****?
I wasn't, you just don't seem like you use the tools given to you to do the job. Just to let you know, I only died 3 times on that account, one time to a blackout, and the other two to AFKing in space. I got well over 15k kills. And I only PVPed for a year (the last year before I got tired and quit). Like it matters.......
Anyways, you've given less to the convo than I have, so there's that..........

Anyways, I'd like ammo that does more than just damage types. Example? any Winmatar weapon atm. Guess what they are tipped with? Tritanium. Yup, we should have exploding bullets. Things like that.

EDIT: Or how about armor eating nanites, but the bullet sucks hitting shields. That could be like tech II ammo or something.
Yea, that would make more sense.......

It makes sense to carry 500 Antimatter Shells along with 500 Iron Shells. Where would you fit your bullets as a infantrymen? We have 5 clip spare usually, and it takes roughly half of those to kill a guy (if we are again taking a huge amount of dust's core) You would be able to to have 5 types, but only a clip of each. Not enough Bullets. 2- EVE isn't balanced. Look at the winmatar whine about there AC's
1: solved
2: It's not completely and utterly broken. Also, I didn't say that that it was perfect, otherwise I would have said so.

It's not even perfect, but yea. Pretty much whenever I say balance, I mean the perfect imbalance (or the level of strength that a certain thing should have), I'm just too lazy to say so lol.
