Also there's the ps4 with ps2 coming soon which is also available on PC now.
Look at it this way. The majority of players at the start will be eve vets who are in massive alliances and corps, they are used to huge battles numbering 1000+ a side.
They will not want wars on that scale fought in shtty little 16v16 skirmishes trust me.
Trust me, its not going to be some niche within a niche lobby joke.

It will be fine.
Eve and dust are very good with player-player interaction as far as sorting squads, corps and alliances out.
That's why I hate bf4, there's no decent interaction on the 'ui'. Its just a constant clusterfuck but I'll bet its better on PC as there's hundreds of small and free 'party programs'. You don't have to rely on a game to wipe your arse for you on PC.
In bf4. You could make a clan without even using EA'S official online rubbish by using a party program. Just have everyone put the clans initials in their name and create a basic site, done.
