Anyway, you are just pining for a game that you played for a long time that is now gone more than you wanting a LMG. You even mentioned that the Assault Combat Rifle was close but didn't look like it so it was getting to you. Not much else can be said in that regard that you are looking for something that DUST has some analogies of but can't live up to what you want.
I would try an Amarr or Minmatar Heavy and throwing Kin Cats in the lows. You sprint pretty fast with those suckers. A Minmatar Sentinel with a complex Kin Cat sprints faster than an Amarr Logistics with no modules. Two Kin Cats, so an Advanced Minmatar Sentinel, pushes it to 7.44 meters a second which is faster than all Assaults aside from Minmatar. However, if they put in Armor plates, you will move faster. You will be squishie but will run quite fast and have a machine gun.
to be honest I am not pining for anything if I'm at all possible, I made this thread to see if there was other people experiencing the same feeling as me, I am sorry if I am getting on your nerves.
not to sound shallow although I probably will I don't really like playing with a Heavy drop suit, I know I am not the only person who thinks this as I have talked to friends who play the game & share my feelings, the heavy dropsuits as much as there cool & all make your character look for lack of a better word "fat", I understand the fundemental reasson they look bulcky etc its because there highly armoured, but personally I dont like looking at my character all fat & dumpy lol.
I know I sound like such a doosh but yer its just how it is.

yer I have tried out the Combat Rifle & Assault Combat Rifle, don't get me wrong they are brilliant gun's but the way they look, sound & generally feel in combat don't give the same simulation
