They certainly got that mechanic balanced and working correctly. There may yet be hope for CCP's expansive development.

Except CCP didn't offer a way for players to market their decision for suicide.
That's where I come in.

I really don't understand the advantage to biomassing. No matter how much you hate the game, what does it gain you?
I can understand when people delete Dust from their PS3s, if their hard drives are near full and they need the space.
But its a free game. If you don't need the disk space, leaving it installed and keeping your character costs nothing.
Is there more to it than petulance?

A biomass is a stat CCP will be tracking. Player numbers fluctuate all the time, so a few players less at this time or that time won't be that much of an issue. But instantly seeing how many have demonstrated their explicit intention never to play the game again, that's something that will be hard to ignore. Especially when the most valuable players to the game desert en masse.

I have this small feeling that when it hits PC that the numbers will be larger than it was on PS3. Hey, people make their own choices. If it's done in spite, it only hurts them. Shrugs

Well let me be one to tell you that its not about the game being free. Its about the time and money INVESTED which now feels utterly pointless. And it hurts. Ok? Can you see that angle at all?
Ok let me try again:
It simply assures me to not pick it up and play again. Believe me, in the wake of my own biomass I have almost taken out my PS3 a couple of times...just to "play some again" you know? But I manage not to as the shame for believing in and paying CCP for developing a CONSOLE shooter is too great. I wouldnt even stream if I played it again thats for sure.

Good one hah. But I know just as well that starting over fresh will feel just as good if the game becomes what I have dreamt of since childhood. Honestly I look forward to it.
