As you prepare to storm the battlefield, we encourage you to download the DUST 514 game manual and browse through the customization and gameplay features that you're about to dive into. Arming yourself with knowledge of your options (and of your enemy) is the single greatest advantage in any wartime scenario. We also recommend all new Immortals visit the game forums at http://forums.dust514.com for the latest updates and to get involved in team discussions in preparation for war.
Getting started:
The Immortal you create will be automatically assigned to one of the eight NPC corporations (guilds) currently competing in the DUST 514 closed beta.
In this phase of testing, you will be helping by playing and giving us feedback on two basic game modes: Ambush and Skirmish.
The Ambush game mode is similar to team deathmatch, where the goal is simply to kill as many members of the opposing team as you can, as often as you can.
The Skirmish game mode is mission driven, where your team will be given an objective to capture or defend strategic points in order to claim victory.
You can access the two game modes from the Battle Finder in game. The Battle Finder has two types of conflicts available: Battle Moon and Corp Battles.
Battle Moon matches are designed for players looking to quickly get into a match and play. There are no long term commitments involved.
Corp Battles are matches that are fought on behalf of the eight NPC corporations, and winning or losing these matches can affect the outcome of a greater war or engagement.
NOTE: The DUST 514 closed beta program is a private test of a work in progress. It is not a final product, nor is it indicative of final performance, frame rate, effects, or feature set. Please remember that if you choose to participate, everything associated with this test is confidential and may not be discussed outside of the DUST 514 closed beta forums.
