1: Restrict DUST Industrial to District Infrastructure. No EVE Minerals/Materials. Ever. 2: Possibly allow EVE Manufacturing with DUST materials (Of both DUST and EVE items) 3: Allow DUST Resource movement via EVE via District>Planet>Customs Offices>(Player job/own-corp or outsourced)>Customs Offices>Planet>District, else logic behind customs offices broken. 4: EVE's PI should be removed/done over.
Explanations for they who are dumb.
Very, Very important Point. CAPSULEERS ARE GODS. DUST Industrial can never fight against EVE Industrial on it's own turf. Therefore, don't.
Second, Also very important point. Why has everyone seemingly forgotten about District Infrastructure after the Salvage/loot announcement?
1: DUST equipment should be made exclusively with materials mined out of districts that have mining infrastructure. No materials should ever come out of an asteroid belt, to avoid saturation from the gods.
2: However, although you can't get the Resources from EVE:O, you are allowed to manufacture both EVE and DUST items from DUST materials delivered via Customs Offices. This can actually improve the EVE/DUST link by supplying materials that you can't get anywhere else.
3: Resources from Mining Districts can either be sent to Factory Districts for direct manufacturing or to the Customs Office floating overhead in order to send it to the EVE Markets, EVE Manufacturing, or sold/sent to other planets.
4: EVE Online's Planetary Interaction exists for one sole purpose. To give purpose to Planets. Now that DUST has arrived, and intends on hooking into the EVE economy, Planetary Interaction now fulfills the space Dusties want. The big difference is that Dusties have guns. :D
Planetary Interaction either needs an intense overhaul or removal before DUST can fill that economic space (Many times over tbh) |

I would definitely want some for of industry / resource handling apart from scavenging. This should be incorporated in the player (EVE?) owned districts. |

(EVE?) -- While it would be interesting to see Capsuleer owned districts, Dusties have to be allowed their own districts for logic's sake. - They're the ones who conquer the places, therefore they could actually own everything by force if all dusties went one-sided to oust the Capsuleers.
The economic way on the DUST PoV is to keep it for themselves. The secure way is to make Capsuleers buy it....and then probably steal it back? There really isn't a good role for Capsuleers in Districts.
Ultimately, the districts should be left Dust-owned and EVE 'rented', if that would be a thing. |

I think adding arbitrary limits to separate the industry of the two games will only make things worse.
They do a similar thing in real life, you know.
They're called tariffs; they don't make the problem go away, they just make it less noticeable.

Arbitrary Limits? - Not sure what you're talking about
I'm not talking about limiting anything, I'm talking about restricting the economic power of EVE relative to DUST in order to avoid squishing the economic potential of DUST. Mostly through realistic sounding excuses that abide the existing world of New Eden.
The easiest way to do that is also permitted by the lore: Tritanium is volatile in atmosphere, therefore you don't use it. This frees up the material demands for a new supply, which would be DUST based. Expanding on that would allow other planetary resources to filter through New Eden being used for interesting things. :P
Food and stuff like that would also make a highly demanded station resource. |
