Over all, amarr commando.
If I had to rank them.... 1. Amarr 2.gallente 3.cal/min
This is because the shield regen is quite dismal atm (of course this is disregarding racial weapon bonus)

GILDENLOCK wrote:Hurray another excuse to link my barely seen video "Caldari Commando Combos with Clamour" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ent_w-OoXiE22 minute music video making a case for the strength of the caldari commando. I have fallen in love with my Caldari Commando Alt. Yes, it's true he is a silly looking pastel marshmallow man (well actually a woman wearing a unisex fat suit), but he/she is a pastel looking marshmallow suit WITH 10% DAMAGE TO RAIL RIFLES. Potentially the strongest rifle in the game, pairing this with a tactical or charge sniper rifle (which also gets a 10% damage bonus) makes for a very lethal long range warrior! But wait, there's more! Think a little outside the box and you can pair that rail rifle baby with shotgun for cqc viability, second favourite choice is swarm launcher, yes it's **** poor av, but a little av in just right place always has a chance to crack a tank or even a bad/unlucky dropship. And both these weapons can be had at minimal sp investment. But get creative, and pair that rail rifle with whatever your heart desires! I won't deny the other commandos have things to recommend them, but, I know there will be more players falling in love with the Caldari Commando, once they reach an understanding of what it's capable of. Great stuff here!!!!

I HateMyFace wrote:Balls. I forgot about the shield regen. But didn't they add more slots? I could put a shield recharger on Yup wich is what I have on all commandos a basic or enhanced shield energizer, -2% shield/+25% shield recharge rate (at the basic level of course, proto is +63% shield recharge ^.^)

This is because the shield regen is quite dismal atm (of course this is disregarding racial weapon bonus) Why is gallente 2. And with shield recharger how would these shake down? And how would these shake down if you ran rr and shotty? The armour tanks are top because they can take some hits and live(plus with a compact hive or logi, they are unstoppable)...the shield tanks are last because the shield recharge is brutal, however, if you setup each commando properly, you can easily take out every other commando.
EDIT: if you have each one a shield recharger and played to each suits weapon bonuses I would say
1.Amarr 2.Caldari (slightly worse than the amarr commando) 3.Minmatar 4.Gallente

I HateMyFace wrote:Vulpes Dolosus wrote:Outsider looking in, but as far as bonuses go, I'd say the Am with a ScR/CR combo would be really good and Min w/ CR and Swarms/MD would be good as well. Cal's only real niche is sniping and it can't really compete otherwise (its shield regen is terrabad). Gallente seems pretty good defensive but it has bonuses to gimped weaponry; the shotgun is very situational and is still outclassed by scouts. With a shield recharger wouldn't cal be competetive? Cal is actually quite competitive if you play smart.
Basically, find a nice relatively protected perch (close to the combat), and setup shop.
I went 28/7/3 with a cal proto commando (kal rr and kal sniper). (First death was in Templar assault, to gage the enemies abilities)

Ehhhh you'll get used to it, once you have the core armour skill up to 5 you'll be fine, just keep your distance and you'll be fine :)

First 3 games 14/6/1 10/10/5 18/2/2 I'm liking it a lot Haha good good, slap a shield energizer and shield extender on it, and you've got a pretty good fit already

Disregarding weapons, and fitting each commando as best as possible with regards to module choices,
I say: Amarr Gallente Minmatar Caldari
