Thats ccps recommend spec. Would an i3 or i5 be any use. I thought a 11 year old game would be a lot less. |

I wont build a pc cause its too much hassle and i couldnt do it so i will get x51 as its easy and well built. If i get the basic i3 would eve look nice? |

I wouldn't waste the money on an i7 for gaming at all. Nothing uses 8 threads...
i5 all day for gaming PC. (get the unlocked 'K' version and overclock it for even better performance than a stock i7) |

Not true anymore. check out a game coming out this year that will use everything you throw at it. IE an i7
I5 is fine for eve and most games though.

I would run 6 clients with inner space on my MX15 with an i5. I also have a P4 PC that still runs EVE as well. |

Eve can run on a potato if you turn the graphics down. I have an i5 and I've been running two clients at max settings for a long time.
Last week my video card bit the dust so while it's being replaced by the manufacturer I'm running on an old GTX 460 instead. No problem, just gotta turn down the bling a little.

IE an i7 Game is called Star Citizen which im leaving Eve/Dust for. I5 is fine for eve and most games though.
If/when a game can actually use 8 threads I might consider an upgrade. Although an overclocked i5 running 4 threads would probably handle it just fine. I can't imagine an i5 running all 4 threads at 90% could not be bottlenecked by any modern graphics cards...
Star citizen must have some ridiculous physics engine that makes it unique, I don't imagine well see many games like that for another 5 years at least. |

honestly dont bother with eve. Its just wasted time and money cause CCP barely pulls out new content for that game. Except you call bug fixes and rebalancing "content". I played it for a year and stopped after i asked myself:

I have a six year old piece of crap desktop. It was ok new, quad core with some kind of graphics card, but it wasn't top of the line.
I have ran three eve clients at the same time when I was grinding isk in a wh. However I do have to keep the graphics settings all on low, but honestly, it doesn't effect game play having graphics on low so I don't care.
But once project legion becomes real, I will be getting a new gaming computer so I do look forward to playing EVE on high settings again. That dark and dreary space full of spaceships is beautiful in high res.

I have used my trusty Dual core (effective 4 thread HT!!!...lol) old core I3. I can triple box eve happily at full settings. Granted It is overclocked to over 4Ghz. But an I7 would absolutely wipe the floor with eve. Unless you were in a 2000man fight then no computer will suffice. |

Eve is boring if you dont get invested in the game and learn the nuances of the mechanics. If you care about your reputation in EVE, your isk, your isk efficency and your pvp prowess - then PVP in EVE is the most adrenaline fuelled of any game. If you find eve boring then you are doing it very wrong or the game is just not for you.
Join RvB or someone like that, get stuck in with pvp and have fun. |

I will admit, RvB looked like fun, but that is kind of like Dust. It is consentual PvP of non-consequence.
If you are in 0.0, either it is a completel grind-fest (like POS/structure shooting), roaming for hours with many many blue-balls, fleet actions that are time-dilated to be just slow as hell, or ganks.
0.0 used to be fun when it was still sort of wild and mysterious where you might not see a player for hours.... Kind of like wormholes were to begin with....
Seriously, Eve is just incredibly boring.
If you do not have LARGE chunks of time to invest in eve, do not both (I mean don't even log in unless you have 2-3 hours chunks).
