It would reduce the money many would have to spend on a new PC and an overpriced Windows licence.
It would be really annoying if I had to buy a new rig + windows licence just because my current one does not support DX11 even though it is still good enough to play most new games at low-medium details.
That is all.
Thanks. |

I was only including MAC to not discriminate against the poor souls who actually bought an Apple product. Those people have made enough bad decisions, no need to point at and laugh about them. |

Dear god, please no DX9 support - it's in the same vein making a PS3 version of Legion (not just Dust, an actual new game). It's dead tech that'll just hold back the development of the game.
FYI, you don't need an entirely new rig for DX11, just a new graphics card - and not an expensive one either. |

The problem is I think even DX11 will be outdated before Legion comes out. I am not sure if doing DX9 would be a waste of time or not. We could be talking years down the road before beta.

Said in another thread, but if there are any Wine devs out there, get on DX11 implementation!
Linux native support is unlikely since CCP dropped Linux support for Eve years ago. They do however acknowledge that they do have a large Linux playerbase, and keep a Linux section in the Eve forums where CCP Snorlax sometimes pokes his nose in (like for a patch a few months ago that completely broke Eve in Linux and elicited a small-scale shitstorm).
As someone who keeps a Windows partition for games that don't work in Linux, I'd love to see something that at least runs in Wine, if not natively in Linux... but while booting into Windows every time I want to play certain games is annoying, it's not the end of the world for me.
Would I love to see it? Of course. Would I be crushed if it didn't happen? Not completely. Do I think I will happen? Probably not.
Legion is absolutely the right move for the future of Dust. How CCP went about revealing it is the biggest problem.
