well they have said that suits wouldnt cost isk in legion. this is just an idea to allow us to keep the suits we paid for. i have well over 50 bpo's and i have no idea what they will do with the mods/weapons. or any idea's on how to deal with it.

I would also like this idea to extend to BPOs with unique paint jobs like the Templar BPO weapons.

I think an idea would be to turn the BPO suits into "paint BPOs" that can be applied to all suits/weapons/vehicles/equipment indefinitely.
I don't know how CCP will be changing/expanding the micro-transaction model, but if cosmetic skins are supposed to be consumable, I would be happy if the BPO's became permanent skins for all items.

They should become special Protosuits if you ask me. Some you can only get by having bought them for Dust.

Quiet you!
Legion is a totally different game, Dust codes won't work! That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I can fully agree with turning our suit and weapon BPOs into permanent cosmetic items for Legion or being able to use their appearance to be applied to suits and weapons introduced in Legion.
However, I am unable to understand what CCP will do with the modules and equipment BPOs since modules can't really be seen on the field and no one cares for the appearance of a dropped uplink or nanohive.
Assuming that only suits in Legion become BPOs while weapons, modules, and equipment remain as consumable commodities, it wouldn't hurt to leave the non-suit BPOs as is. Besides, it's not like there will be more non-suit BPOs to come. And if the player base in Legion becomes any bigger than what we had here in Dust, then the percentage of Dust BPO owners will be very small relative to the rest of the Legion player base.

So sell more !!! Give new players a chance to catch up to old vets by purchasing the same BPO's we did for aurum in LEGION. If all of my BPO's are not there I will not be playing LEGION. |

I want my PBO's to be what they are and converted to legion format after all we have invested in the game and some benefits from investing in the game are due having these suits will have their own unique skins and thus defeats the purpose of this thread.
I don't even know why I bother.

It will likely be redundant anyways to keep suit BPOs as is if CCP is serious about making all dropsuits in Legion automatically BPOs. If that's the case, making them cosmetic-only items that can be applied to other suits or be their own cosmetic suits seems to be the only practical solution. Thankfully their slot arrangements can be modified to account for the tieracide that Legion suits will undergo as well if the Progression Presentation at Fanfest 2014 is any indication.
But overall, any and all non-suit BPOs should remain as is.
As for introducing more BPOs, again it will be redundant for suit BPOs as mentioned above. And it's very unlikely CCP will ever introduce anymore non-suit BPOs other than what we already acquired in our inventory.

thanks for agreeing with me on that and clarifying your intentions of this post.
with that cleared up I would like to have options on my drop suits appearance perhaps they could have a cammo selection added after the game launches to drop suits either by aurum or raising your effectiveness with the suits and weapons.
I don't even know why I bother.

I like this idea, but at the same time I still feel this doesn't do enough to compensate us for the costs we paid for BPOs. Though I think if this is done it should have multiple variants of the skin to apply to the grades of dropsuits. That and the Dren suits would need a makeover because they are too butt fugly to be nothing more than skins. |

But I still "didn't pay 120 dollars for my Dren, Sever, and Raven suits to be skins." Skins are probably what is going to happen but had I known they were going to be Skins there is no way in hell I would have bought them. Alright, maybe the Raven but only because I am a sucker for Caldari and the maybe 4 total hours I played MAG was with Raven. But that still means that what I purchased is far off what they were originally meant for.
If there are skins in Legion, which will probably happen as it is the best way to get money out of players without it being necessary (Riot makes a mountain of money off of this concept), I doubt every skin will be $10 just as you will have less people buying them. How much is a painted white-camo suit worth to the average player? If it costs 5 dollars, I got screwed because I paid 10. At least with the Dren and Templar stuff, people will probably be able to keep their weapons (Assault Rifle, Swarm Launcher, Shotgun, Scrambler Pistol or Scrambler Pistol, Scrambler Rifle, and Laser Rifle).
The promises of the last administration are not in the hands of the current administration.

this is why im sugesting that all suits aside from templar are made unavailable to anyone who doesnt already have them. perhaps being able to sell them. so at least no new ones get into the system.
