Point 1: CoD/BF/etc are marketed exactly as they are. Buy game, turn on, shoot people in the face. Rinse and repeat next year with some new stuff.
Everyone knows and expects this.
Dust was marketed as an evolving game (seriously, read the f*cking description you posted in your own thread for chrissake) with a "persistent universe" and "ever-changing battle". New game modes, weapons, player markets, have been promised to us for over a year, like a carrot on a string.
None were delivered, all while aurum sales were simultaneously pimped, even harder than usual for the past 2 months (you can NOT honestly think that's a coincidence).
Point 2: Perhaps more importantly, if all the stuff we were promised is going to another game (that I'm not going to play because it's on PC) why would I keep playing an unfinished game? That makes no sense!
If I had played Dust for the first time and been told then that most development resources were not being devoted to this game, and that we would never have a market, or PvE, or whatever. Guess what? I wouldn't have kept playing because the game is just not that good in it's present state
CCP can do whatever the f*ck they want with their own intellectual property, that's their right as a business. Misleading us isn't. Neither is a total lack of contrition after horribly handling this whole mess.
As a gamer, I think their decision is lame and don't like it. Whatever. I'm going to go play a better game.
As a consumer, my opinion is that I did not get what I pay for. I think they run their business poorly and don't give 2 sh*ts about their customers. So, I choose to no longer do business with them.
Please note the difference between those two things. Now add them together and you get what you see on the forums. Some people express their displeasure more vigorously than others, but, I mean, this is the internets after all. It's expected.
TL;DR: I'm quitting the game because there are better games. I'm pissed at CCP because they are a crappy company to do business with. 2 separate issues that combine to make forum rage.
Quitting cold turkey was impossible. The forum patch is helping me kick the habit!
