You do know that Sony probably had the go ahead from CCP for this, right?
I doubt Sony would open themselves up to a potential lawsuit from CCP just to give players some random items in a game from a company they supposedly hate.

Regardless there is no post about it anywhere. i bet it was Sony's idea, and since CCP couldn't take credit they are too damn embarrassed to talk about it. That, or maybe since it is Sony's marketplace they reserve the right to do things like this without the Dev's approval if they see fit.
Whether or not it was Sony's idea, without CCP signing off on it, it would be considered theft, and I strongly doubt Sony would do that, basically ever.
Like I said, I could definitely be wrong, it just doesn't seem very business-like from a large, well established business.

Unless Sony reserves the right to do such a thing, since the content is hosted on their marketplace under their terms. I don't know how likely that is (probably not very), but it would be flippin hilarious
Yea, my thing though is that it's a sale coming directly from CCP. Sony doesn't own the content, they just own the right market that content, and take their cut from it.
Unless Sony paid CCP in advance for all digital content, then giving it away would be blatant theft.
