Honestly, the scratched name incident is something that I agree deserves heavy punishment for and the perps were thankfully caught and brought to face the music (queue Beneath the Asteroids). As for the Goon sticker, it didn't really cover anyone's name and it wasn't offensive in any way so I'm wondering if people were punished for that as well? The post you linked didn't seem to mention anything about that other than about the scratched name.

Likely scenario (not sure): one to scratch out a name and the rest to provide cover. Maybe. I don't know.

Please tell me you're just kidding when you say that.
If you bother to look up any statistics at all about Iceland on Google, you will see that the island nation of no more 500,000 residents is actually one of, if not THE, safest place in the world as their crime rate is at an all time low compared to the rest of the world. The income gap between all three classes (wealthy, middle class, and poor) is so low that you can barely tell them apart. In fact, wealthy people in Iceland seem to send their kids to the same schools as that of middle-class and poor kids. The atmosphere as a result is generally calm, warm welcoming, and overall laid back with beautiful scenery, great food, and unique culture.
One more thing.
During the 2007-2008 global economic recession while many other nations like the US, Canada, and parts of the EU have bailed out their banks, Iceland in the meantime threw all of their guilty bankers and executives into jail (literally). Their nation suffered economically but it also recovered faster than all the nations who didn't jail their bankers and execs.

Real or Toon name, it doesn't matter. That monument is public property belonging to the city which just so happen to be privately funded. It's no different than any other monument out there. Those players are damn lucky that CCP didn't throw them to the local authorities which potentially could've resulted in jail time. If Iceland is not afraid to throw their bankers to jail, then they wouldn't be afraid to throw in a bunch of kids behind bars either.

I'm merely saying that the player wasn't RL griefed--it was game related. Boo hoo. I'm not contesting its legality. And your point about Iceland being unafraid to throw bankers in jail implies that they're a reasonable society that deals sensibly and proportionately with crimes. Hence, I'd bet the punishment would amount to little more than a fine and an apology, not throwing "a bunch of kids behind bars".
True. I guess I'm just so use to the American Justice System. Sentence a convicted child rapist to one month of community service while someone who was in possession of one ounce of pot gets years in jail.

I judge countries by the people I see from them, CCP is basically the only representation I have of people from Iceland, besides old stories of how the vikings were afraid of my family(Though, technically the "real" vikings were Scandinavian as I'm sure you're just waiting to bring up after reading that, but not getting this far) and they're a bunch of liars and thieves.
Then I guess you don't mind me bringing up false stereotypes of where you're from if you're going that route.

A few more tidbits.
Apparently Christmas in Iceland is not celebrated with Santa. It's celebrated with the Yule Lads. CCP makes this even more apparent for anyone playing Eve Online. It's a tale that's far more interesting than Santa and Jesus (whose birthday is not even on Christmas according to the Vatican). Source: http://www.iceland.is/the-big-picture/news/celebrating-christmas-with-13-trolls/7916/
The Icelandic police have a dedicated armed unit known as the Viking Squad.

Sorry, I'm not Napoleon so I don't ride high horses. Even I'm not tall enough (or short enough) for that.
Stereotypes are the result of what people see as well. Judging an entire country or demographic based on what you see from one person IS stereotyping.
But if you want to go ahead and judge an entire group of people based on what you see from the appearance or action of one person, then go ahead. I won't stop you. After all, we all have a right to our opinions however wrong yours are.
