Really excellent series.
You should make a 15 minute video that compresses/summarizes a lot of the detail in the series for the impatient first-time player. You can point them to your other videos as a reference for players who want the depth. Assume they've already made a character and have some experience with FPS games, but don't understand what's what (e.g. What is a CRU, Mobile Depot, nanohives, repair tool, active scanner, remote repairer, needles, armor vs. shields etc.). Try to move quickly through the material and let them know they can learn more in your other clips.
Stress getting in a squad. Do a simple overview of how to join a chat channel, and give them the name of a good one for new players. Briefly show how to join a squad using the squad finder. Quickly show how to get your mic going in squad. Explain how to make a militia starter fit by quickly showing the market. Maybe make your favorite 0 SP militia fit that any race can use as an example. Show them how to make a copy of the fit and then swap out the gun. Encourage them to do this for all militia weapon variants. Highlight some of the best bang/buck SP choices for the new player like armor/shields, electronics/engineering, and getting their favorite racial rifle to Advanced. Briefly explain the economy and how each death uses up one fitting unless revived. Explain that WPs effect end of match payout. Give a couple of quick/easy tips to increase WPs that the new player can take advantage of.
Summarize the suit sizes and racial types. Basically try to make a video for the player who isn't sure they will like DUST, they skipped all of the text and don't understand much, and will only commit 15 minutes to a tutorial vid. What can you squeeze into it to give them the best chance of success? If they like your suggestions, and do well, then they're more likely to become invested enough to watch the rest of your videos.
On a separate note, I'd really enjoy seeing a video (possibly a separate series) on how to be an effective squad leader. Things like squad compositions, communication style, what is important to communicate vs. just noise, team tactics and strategy, dealing with enemy vehicles with squad tactics, squad strategies for the various game modes etc.
Best PvE idea ever!
