I don't understand it. I've been playing this game for months now, and in that time, not one angry noob has ever sent me a mail telling me how much he hates me. I hear so many stories from other player about all the hate mail there getting from pissed off raspberries, but none has ever come my way. I've crushed lots with my HMG. I've sat at ridiculous range with my rail rifle and charge sniper rifle. I've ever roflcopter ran around and farmed cheapass Remote explosive kills off skirmish letters. Nothing. Still nothing. The closest I've been able to manage was pissing off some squaddies for promoting my videos, that turned into quite a good hate session but I got kicked before that could even get good. I thought joining pradox would help get me hate but nope, nothing. So, What do I have to do to **** off the noobs enough that they will write me and tell me how much they hate me? How do you do it?

but frankly i never get hate mail myself, i only get mail asking to join my corporation which is weird because im not in a corp.

I feel sure a lot of people on the forums exaggerate the amount of hatemail they receive.
Anyway, some tips I've picked up from my own ventures:
Attempt to relentlessly punish a single person. Over and over. If there is a bad proto user in the match, kill them as many times as you can, as cheaply as you can. OHKOs are ideal. Plasma cannons generally result in more 'GG' or 'respect' mail, though.
Cheap tactics are bread and butter when you want to collect tears. Remotes are infuriating, cloaked shotgun scouts are infuriating, forge sniping is infuriating. That kind of thing - sudden death when you can't really see it coming. Alternatively use an HAV.
The US server seems to be a better bet for hatemail than the EU or Asian servers. I get a fair bit on the EU servers but a lot of it ends up in languages I don't understand (which is amusing in itself I suppose) and it's still less than on the US server.
I get a lot, lot more hatemail on this character than I do on my alts. Get e-famous!

I only ever get hatemail from "pro" players, usually has to do with negating their sidesteppy+low fps tricks with mass drivers or about getting a 1:1000 isk loss:damage ratio on protostombers by using remote explosives :)
Once got one for continually annihilating a squad of high-ground proto fitted kill-farmers with a militia forgegun.

If you want a guarantee of hate mail there are two options.
The most consistent way to receive it is wait for an assault dropship to start doing its thing and ram him with a viper. This is the one and only thing I will send out hate mail for.
Another possible way is to stand at the supply depot and wait for an enemy to attack you. Pop off a few shots on him and switch suits, you will need to have something decent set as favorite so you can just tap the x button a few times, once you have changed suits finish him off. Bonus points if the suit you switch to is fully prototype.
It will likely only take you 2-3 times maximum using one or both of these tactics before your inbox becomes the proud recipient of hate mail.

Find the person most dedicated to not getting killed, and go needlessly out of your way to kill them repeatedly.
Flying a dropship with a scanner into the redline to find a sniper was my personal favourite.

My tank is a hate mail machine. The thing you have to do is reply with a happy, go lucky attitude and not to be sarcastic in a hateful way.
My favorite was one that I believe was in Spanish that was something like "no balls tanker and you suck" with lots and lots of colorful insults that would suggest that I was both a male genitalia but also a kitty. My reply:
I am an Ugly American so I had to use Google Translate to figure out the gist of what you said. If I didn't know any better, I would say you are trying to hurt my feelings.
