Invincible Heavy on Small LAV Blaster?

LtGen Shanks Kinsho Swords Caldari State 22	Posted - 2014.05.07 02:18:00 - [1] - Quote It was last night in a Domination match when a Heavy rolled up to the objective with his LAV. He then proceeded to mount the small blaster turret and began to fire away without ever moving. Taking consistent fire from what seemed to be the entire team, he stayed there blasting away and scoring some kills in the process. The dude was invincible. His HP never budged. Several Scouts with shotguns ran directly up to him, only to retreat as he pinned them down with his turret. Several of us were spamming grenades but the only thing taking damage was his LAV. The only time he was vulnerable was when he dismounted the LAV as it was going to explode, but other than that one instance, the guy was completely invulnerable to all our attacks. HOW?!!?

The front of the turret has a shield surrounding it. You have to hit from the side, or specifically take the time to hit the top of the head, or else you won't get it... If you can read this, it means you are reading. Unless you are skimming

He parked in front of 12+ people, all shooting at him front different angles/distances and spamming grenades. Shield my ass, the guy was god moding it lol.

I highly doubt it was 12 people at the same time, more like 1-3 engaging in clusters. The shield points wherever the gun points. Like one of those old Game'N Watch gallery where you have to catch all the drips before they hit the ground. It sounds like nobody actually threw a flux, and was trying to use regular weaponry against the shields of the car. If you can read this, it means you are reading. Unless you are skimming

Hit detection and latency has huge issues in UE3 (and DUST is even worse). I ran into guys a dozen times who were invicible like you mentioned, but after a few seconds in the same match I could kill them. (Except that ******* scout from yesterday... 30 rounds from the Magsec at point blank, I saw the shield effect but still he ran away with full shield after killing me with that stupid shotgun.) But I was invincible once too, I had a face-to-face fight against a Gallente Assault, he shot me a few times and none of us took damage, but everything was pretty ok around us. A few seconds later I killed him, it was disturbing. So maybe it isn't cheating... just working as intended, right? Yes, I'm that desperate...

Your Scouts were clearly doing it wrong. So was everyone else who was firing from the same direction all at the same time.
