To have a PC that was around before Skyrim, that can max out skyrim.... you would have needed at the very least a GTX 480 or 295 GTX at that time.... you know a $600 card at that time. Thats right, you needed to spend $600 (which is a Ps4 and idk... 7-8 brand new games with trade ins, or ~ 6 years of PSPlus and 103+ free games) You spent that to be cutting edge for ~1 year.
Can a GTX 480 really run everything maxxed out anymore (the answer is lol no.)

IF you made a PC in 2010 that is better for gaming than a Ps4... well I guess you spent 2k+ on it due to the fact that the best GFX card you could have (over $600) was the GTX 480, of which you would need between 2-3 in SLI in order to match the Ps4, oh you must have had a pretty badass board ($250+) in order to facilitate that, oh and a ton of ram ($200+), that isn't to mention the expensive powersupply that you would need to use, or the fact that your electrical bill just from the past 3 years could have bought you a PS4 with 4-5 years of PSplus (you know 120+ free games).

I can play current games that came out today at max or near max same resolution with no issues. Try again pleb.
You know what you wrote is the equivalent of banging your head on the keyboard? Actually you may have come up with a more intellegent response that way.
#1, best card around skyrim's release (a 3 year old game btw) was GTX 480
#2 you said cards, that implies you bought $1200 worth of cards, or enough to buy a Ps4 three times over.
#3 of course PC games haven't increased in requirements too much since 2010, most PC games use consoles as their primary development platform, you get our leftovers. As soon as development switches entirely to PS4/Xbox1 you guys can finally start spending $1200 every two years again for 10% more performance LOL.

Oh no I guess you're right, I was off a year. June 2011 I bought a GTX 570 for 300. Bought a second one used last year for 125. I never said that PCs were cheaper, but to say that PCs are for doing work and that consoles are for gaming is ignorant and wrong.
I never claimed that they were for work.
I said that unless you just want to throw money away, have a huge headache (trust me I don't mind, I have a watercooled rig), and have not even close to the comfort/ease of use/ social acceptability, well you get the point.
Yes PCs will outperform a console. Yes, PCs will cost in all ways shapes and forms more than a console. Yes tablets are killing both PCs and consoles. Yes, PC gaming will always be left-overs from the console because of the console being the lead platform.

For at least an extra $400 (plus more you will have to spend in 3-4 years because the GFX is no llonger supported, while the PS4 still is), oh and with more headache, and less comfortable gaming, oh and less big-budget games, oh and a much crappier community, oh and more hacks, and so on.

Dust was set to be a console shooter, ps3 hopefully ps4 ... The reason gamers are reacting badly to Legion is they will join ****stains like you on PC platform... Also, your comments about a 7800 GTX (which has 2x the amount of memory that the PS3 GPU does)not being able to play games at the fidelity of the PS3 is accurate, but don't expect PCMasterace dummies to understand it. They just don't seem to understand how much more efficient consoles are with their computing power. All they see is numbers and they drool, they have no idea what optimization is.
Sure, in 2-3 years PC will start to pull ahead and distance itself from PS4, but to really take advantage of that you are going to need to spend the same as what a PS4 will cost on a new GPU.
