This is correct. That evil entity is what brought upon the downfall of The Sleepers and it was lurking in the clone body that Jamyl Sarum reincarnated into. All of the other Sleepers know of this, and the Templar Clones that went "crazy" were actually The Sleepers inhabiting those bodies trying to take control and warn everyone about the coming evil. Unfortunately, such warnings came too late and now that evil is in control of the single most powerful Human in the universe. Sarum can regain control of herself and often has seemingly schizophrenic struggles to control her body, but she is still mostly being subjugated by this ancient Sleeper nightmare.

For the record, that's why all the original clones went "insane". The original clone bodies were actually Sleepers that were foricibly ripped out of the derelict stations and used as guinea pigs for the first Templars, and this process of using Sleeper bodies to make clones continued in all 4 empires until the Amarr created Gen 2 clones, which were vat grown and did not have latent Sleepers repressed in their brains.
