so, in these other games you had problems walking over hills. climbing up stairs. hitting the target you were shooting at.
zipper was certainly not the only developer to put a good shooter on the ps3.

Ive never own a gaming pc but to play a game I fell in love with. I'll buy a gaming pc sure. There are tons of sites that have finance options to buy a PC. Pretty cool |

Those are pretty bad problems with Dust, but other problems in other games are even worse? Other games autoaim you onto a target when you ADS, throw ridiculously overpowered C4 like a grenade with no consequence, don't have dedicated servers and register hits player-side, spawn you without input and without regard to enemy location, have weird, ****** arcadey motion capturing and emulate other games with these problems without an ounce of creative direction.
So, yeah, only Zipper ever did it even close to right. |

legion is dependent upon how the community receives it. the dev blog has 17 likes in almost 4 days. it's not looking good.

sorry to burst your bubble but not all players of console game are kids. some of us happen to have real jobs. and no not micky d's but i do have enough to buy one. i will admit when i first heard of the switch to PC i screamed kicked and cried like a kid . lmao but i see the bigger picture now. and by the way never played those games my wife did . lol now the thinking behind originally putting dust on ps3 was to bring more into the fold and have something new to showcase what CCP can do . by switching to Pc they left behind what made CCP great. if they Do continue to keep dust514 on ps3 with updates and content. and get legion where it needs to be as a great fps on pc. they in the future could merge them and at the same time keep the separated ( meaning Dust514 = ground game FW ,PC and training) Legion big leagues titan boarding different type of Plantery conquest, provide security for exploring setting up outpost , front line fighting etc then yeah |

It is difficult to master, that does not make it worse. Look at what the PS3 can do when used correctly. They designed the PS3 to be difficult but when mastered it is very powerful to be what it is.

You do not design a product to be hard to use unless the purpose of using the product is to cause you hardship. PS3 MIGHT be hard to design on because it as needed to make it so powerful for its day, and that might give very experienced developers more to work with overall, but now that there's easier more powerful ways to get the same results the PS3 IS a bad system to build in even if a thin argument can be made about that not being the case at launch.
If SONY did make the platform that way on purpose without it being required then they need to check for gas leaks in their R&D department because those guys have brain damage.

There are over 500,000 current subscriptions in EVE Online. Assuming that everyone has three active accounts (which is a fairly large number; quite a few of the people I knew on EVE didn't even have two accounts), that's still 167,000 people.

It's not just gonna be the EVE players, it's gonna be anyone that has a PC that can handle plenty of things. You obviously haven't actually bothered to see how big the PC gaming community is.

Run around the world for awhile, knock **** over, move everything around, kill some NPCs and throw their bodies around, eventually you'll feel it start to chug.
This is technically true for the 360 version and the PC version too, but you'd have to do a lot more to make it happen |

I never said I had problems playing Skyrim on the PS3, I said Skyrim had problems while I was playing it on the PS3.

Funny how quicky people have forgotten that the majority of complaints with Dust, like weapon balancing, basic game mechanics, terrain glitches, etc, etc, had nothing at all to do with the platform it was on, and everything to do with the fact that, while it was a fantasic concept, CCP simply lacked the FPS experience and technical know-how to make it a reality.
Now they have a new "vision" which is still just an interesting concept, an idea on the drawing board, just like Dust was back when we were dazzled by it's marketing presentations and pretty videos. We all believed the hype back then, just like all of the Legion supporters do now. We all, CCP included, KNEW the limitations of the PS3, and exactly how far along it was in the console life cycle, but they made the promises anyway, and we bought the sales pitch, hook, line, and sinker.
And here we are.
Does anyone honestly believe that a different platform is going to magically transform CCP into a AAA developer? Do you really believe that THIS time will be different just because "PC"?
CCP are grand dreamers. They have fantastic ideas, but lack the ability to make those ideas a reality.
I had hope for Dust, but it turned out to be a failed experiment, and nothing that CCP has done with it over the past year has given me any reason to believe that they've learned anything at all from their mistakes.
On the contrary, if anything, they seem determined to repeat them.
Legion will most likely be green lit, CCP has little choice now. They've burned their bridges, so there's no going back. Just don't expect the "finished" product to look anything at all like what you just saw at Fanfest, because I can guarantee that it won't.
I don't hope for Legion to fail, or for it to become another unrealized vision, but I will not be at all surprised if or when it is.
Nor will I be at all surprised if CCP screws all the Legion players over, just like they did with us, the moment it suits their purposes, or in order to pusue their next "vision", whatever it might be. |

You really need to clarify more often, then. When you just say "There are probably only about 15K max EVE pilots", you're going to make yourself look like an arse because that's completely wrong. That's like saying there are only 2,000 Dust Mercenaries, because, you know, a third of them are AFK (pulling numbers out of your arse is fun, no wonder it's so popular on the forum).

I find it funny that some of you believe that developing Legion on PC will somehow make it awesome compared to how Dust turned out. New Flash, just because it will be on PC doesn't mean that all the problems that plagued Dust will magically disappear since a PC CAN'T CODE THE GAME FOR YOU! CCP still has the same devs working on Legion that are working on Dust. What have any of them done to makes you think that they will do a better job balancing dropsuits/weapons/vehicles just because it's on PC? An idiot with a PC is still an idiot

Performance should be better but balance will still probably be pretty bad. You are correct though, why would they all of a sudden get better at the game play aspect.
Donate ISK to me and help fund PC change! We CAN take PC back & allow smaller corps to have a chance at having a home.

The point is there may be 500K accounts and 20k online but of those accounts many are alts and of those on line many are alts of a main. I would wager that at any given time the number online players is actually double the number of individuals playing, I may be off 10% but that is how it is. There may be 500,000 EVE players but CCP will be going to the same well twice. Players have a limit on how much they will spend and this doesn't double with the addition of a new game mode. They may get players but what CCP needs is a new income stream and Eve players and PC doesnt tap into that.

Some of the best advice and feedback they could have had was posted long ago and at great length by many of the folks that already left.
I support legion. - it's more of a theoretical support. Depending on the feedback I get, it may become actual support.

I don't recall seeing anyone else develop a cross platform cross genre game on PS3 with all the features CCP envisioned for Dust 514 either.
And what is so cross platform about dust?
OOO orbitals big whoop some eve pilot gets a request to drop a orbital. They press a button and that triggers an orbital in dust. I am not impressed.
Even this mechanic is mostly broken with extreme lagg from orbital request to pilot getting request and back.
Rockstar with gta5 has made one really nice open world game. BF4 is also pretty darn nice. Also titanfall has been made for the xbox 360 so i am sure if they wanted to it could be on the ps3 which actually has better hardware than the 360.
Dam shame CCP didn't hire zipper for Dust. |

Also, don't say sh*t against Ratchet and Clank. One of the best old school game series ever. (I like how you picked on Insomniac Games, one of the better studios to work for.)
I wish no ill will towards Legion, Green Light it, Red Light it, sh*t Yellow Light it. Just come up with a plan and actually stick with it CCP. My only request, don't bring it to the PS4, and maybe even keep Valykrie away if you don't mind, I'd rather not see it on my console...
I 'support' EVE:Legion. Since the PS4 is just a dream, make it easy to sell our characters and our Beta access...
