Other games have map editors like THIS ONE
Given the sandbox nature of this game and the philosophical desire to have the players create the content, how important do you think including a feature like this is? How feasible/difficult is it to create from a development POC?
I personally think these are the types of tools we need. JC and Atli mentioned a few times in their presentations that they want to give the players tools and they mentioned tournaments created and run by the players, they even mentioned that a corp or alliance may be known as "the tournament" alliance. This seems like the perfect compliment for that and I hope it is strongly considered and discussed.

You can go buy a car and then get after market modifications to get a better stereo system, sweet 22" rims, exhaust, super charger, headlights, brakelights, seating, etc. etc.
OR
(We don't have this option in the current automotive industry system) You could work with the developers during the process and give them all the ideas in the very beginning to help guide them with features you like and want.
I believe NOW is the time to give all the ideas and features we can think of. Get it all out there so when they are prioritizing within the dev team, they have a more complete list if what the community wants. Just my opinion.

Anyone who wants to understand map design should go download Unreal Tournament 2004 and also the community map packs. Will show you how good maps are hard to do. (I'm sure there's a Quake equivalent but I was never super hardcore on Quake like Unreal). Are you sure?
How do you come to have this knowledge?
