DUST Search - I'm Gonna Go Out And Say It #PS4 Will NOT Happen

Legion will not happen on PS4. Yeah, you heard me right and I'm gonna explain exactly why it's not gonna happen on PS4. First of all there has never been a successful shooter that's cross platform between PC and a console, and don't you dare bringing up Shadowrun here. There are a couple of reasons for that but first of all we've got the keyboard/mouse vs a controller issue and anyone who understands FPS knows, for a fact, that a keyboard/mouse is the superior controlling schema and nothing's gonna change that. It's not gonna be fair for the PS4 trying to fiddle around with that shiny plastic joystick, man, while guys like me are raining death upon their sorry asses with precision sniper shots.

Now before all you White Knight Sony fans decide to charge out of the woodworks on your high horses, accusing yours truly of advocating the "PC Master Race" movement, let me assure you that I like all platforms. Heck, I even play mobile games. Yeah, that's right, I said it and I'm not gonna take it back. Moreover, back in the day when keyboard/mouse debate for Dust514 was raging, I was against bringing that support into our game for the exact same reason. It will never be balanced, it won't be fun and it won't work. You gotta choose and it's either gonna be a controller or it's gonna be the mouse/kayboard combo and CCP has made their decision clear. I want CCP to be "laser focused" on delivering the best game possible and by porting it to multiple platforms it's only lead to watering down the product.

Now there are many other issues here like keeping the game in sync in terms of updates, generational console leaps and dealing with a large corporation like Sony will always be sketchy to say the least. On top of that, when you start piling on the technological constraints, both hardware and software, licensing problems, server issues and database systems, everyone in their right mind should start to get the clue why it's a bad idea. And that's just scratching the surface my friends. And CCP, if anyone in your company, and I mean anyone be it a lead designer or a caretaker, harbours any dreams of PS4 port I suggest you fire their asses before June. Yeah I'm being tough here but that's what it takes at this point to make this game a reality. Tough love. Go and do likewise gents.

Gonna down all your arguments : - First if we can't play Legion, WHY should we want to see Legion becoming a success while they betrayed us and used us as a free Alpha tester ? Seriously YOU want it to become great because YOU are a PC player. We're not. -Controller vs Keyboard/mouse is a problem ? : NO. First, Dust 514 is already like that, there's controller vs KB/M , and how can you talk about "Tech balance" in a game like Dust ? Where Full Proto is playing against Militia ? The gear (In game AND IRL) with lot of diffrence always been a part of Dust / Legio and EvE. Same for PC, nobody have the same PC, a person with 150 FPS will always have the advantage over a 15 FPS player. Even more with significal difference of ping between players on PC. "Technical" differance is not an argument. To finish, Controller have Aim Assist, while KB/M don't, bringing an closer edge between these two. - We don't accuse you to be a pure "PC ******" BUT you will play Legion on PC. Not us. Because we can't, because we don't want. While you will, so indirectly it makes you defend the PC side agianst the Cross Plateform / PS4 side. So what ? CCP promised US CONSOLE PLAYERS the same thing years ago. Promise have been maded and is NOT expired. Stop being selfish. -This argument is really poor, of course Sync needs to be updated, "Oh poor Pc players they will need to wait 1 more week before an update, let's scratch out the whole Game for other people instead" Perfect selfish Pc player. On the other hand There's no "test" for Sony patch so it's CCP give the patch, Sony receive them oney, Patch is released. And since the patch is PC tested, no need for test. "Technilogical" constraints, If the PS4 is not powerful enough for Legion THEN how much PC will be able to play it ? 5% ? 10 % ? License is not a problem, CCP already maded contracts with Sony. A reality for WHO ? What's the point about making a game if only 10% of Fanbase can actually play it ? Stupid way of thinking.
