I play FPS since they were born. FPS many of you have only ear about like Doom, Doom2, Quake and Quake 2-3 ETC ETC. That was only on PC. There is a reason why many people switched over console. It's Competition. When i get kill i want to know that the guy that kill me was in an equal play field. 2 problems rise with a PC game: the first and MOST important in a FPS are AIMBOT-TRIGBOT-WALLHACKZ, they are a nuisance in every Battlefield/COD etc etc Now imagine that ****** things in a MMOFPS where very death count. Cant possibly go well. The second one is that a consolle is a equal play field. You come with the same controller, the same CPU etc etc. On consolle you don't have to worry about 1000000 DPI mouse, or MACRO-keybord that can put you at disadvantage even before logging the game. And there is no way to balance this 2 thing. Copy/Paste from another thread.
I'll bite here.
If CCP puts a similar amount of effort into hack detection that companies like Valve do for TF2 or CS:GO - then aimbots will generally get banned within a few hours. Aimbot is too noticeable and too invasive not to get eventually noticed. If CCP permabans any account using hacks, then legitimate people will not risk their SP/AUR on hacking. Its a F2P game though and there will be hackers no doubt, I wouldn't surprised if there are hackers right now on the PS3 version (just because its harder doesn't mean its impossible),
So I don't know what a trig bot is... is that like rapid firing single pull and burst pull weapons? If so, **** we've got tons of peeps with turbo controllers... is there, functionally, a difference? Good game design on RoF limits is how they've dealt with turbo controllers in the past, I don't see how that would work any differently.
Wallhacks? Well that is definitely a legitimate concern as well, one that is much more difficult to detect. However, at the very least we have the tacnet and active scanning, so I would almost say we have built in wallhacks already. The only people who will truly suffer at highly dampened and cloaked scouts.
Hacking is definitely a serious concern, but I do believe the persistance RPGish nature of the game should help a bit in that regard as well. We can always set the meta level of our matches above what a new person can get into, there will be some hackers that will grinds for 20-40 hours to get into higher level matches before they start hacking but that's definitely going to make them fewer and further between.
TL:DR - with good software solutions and design implementations it will be possible to mitigate hacking. Its up to CCP to make that happen though of course.

Console is where my entertainment is at. Exactly pcs are for work and consoles are for games.
hm... that's so odd... i've logged thousands of hours of game time on my PC. A lot of that time is playing MMORPGs sure, but i've put in hundreds of hours on games that were also released on consoles (Dark Souls, Assassin's Creed, Portal, etc).

Plus, unless you're running some high end screen, you'll never get beyond 1080p which I like to run on my 50" LED screen.
Better for the long run? You know we're in 'the long run' of the PS3 right?

Jake Diesel wrote: If you can't run this game, or any other high profile game with max settings without a drop in framerate. Then it's not worth investing. Why? When a PC version on medium graphics is already better than the PS4 in many cases today, would you HAVE to run every game on maximum graphics? You know the PS4 can't render in 1080p? It has to render in 720p and upscale that to your TVs native resolution. Even though it has low level API access (something PCs don't have yet) it still can't keep up with a mid range PC. In 3-4 more years people are gonna be complaining about the PS4 like they are complaining about the PS3... Actually, the max resolution I would even care for would be 1080p. And where exactly are you getting your info regarding "rendering" at 720p and upscaling? When pretty much every developer, including Hideo Kojima of MGS Ground Zeroes stated that the PS4 "renders" in 1080p. Is there some secret pc lingo I don't know about where the term "render" means two different things?
I did check out the article, hope that's actually the case moving forward.

Its true, consoles are cheaper... but PCs are better.
You get what you pay for. There is a reason for both consoles and PCs to exist. Just like there is a reason for Camry's and BMWs to exist.

You get what you pay for. There is a reason for both consoles and PCs to exist. Just like there is a reason for Camry's and BMWs to exist. Per price a PC can not match a console, not even close. The console caters to everyone, has way better price per performance, has a much higher developer focus, and is just more fun. See this is exactly the point I was trying to make here. For PC gamers it has nothing to do with "gaming" as a hobby, it is all about deriving self-worth from having a ridiculous PC because that is the only place they can. I hate top break ti to you but no one cares who has the most bad-ass pocket protector.
The console doesn't cater to everyone, that is far too general of a statement.
As with most things, the more power you want you pay a price of diminishing returns. A Camry is gonna give you more hp/$ than a BMW will too, but you still see a lot of BMWs on the road. Would you not argue a Camry caters to everyone as well? I wonder why it is then that not every single person is driving a Camry? By your logic no one would be driving BMWs.
