I love stories!
I guess I should have done more research on CCP before buying stuff from them. When they started doing greedy stuff with EVE, players dropped subscriptions like hot potatoes until CCP caved. I hear this and I realize how little power I have playing a F2P game of theirs.
Good thing Legion is F2P too though. Lets you know what their intentions are. |

Didn't they promise never to do that?

Oh so they do this crap a lot then? Good thing they have you to defend them.
Quote: Honestly, that was the only time I've ever been angry at CCP.... and the things they've done since then to make up for it have been stellar. This DUST thing..... yeah, they could have announced it differently. But they really thought everyone was going to be excited that the game was leaving a dead platform and moving onto a permanent home.
No that's not what they thought. They knew they would be angering a large number of players, and instead of admitting it to us soon after the decision was made, they sat on it and ran a bunch of revenue schemes to milk us stupid sheep. Then they dropped the news on us without any thought whatsover put into its delivery. We are paying customers and they are showing us every step of the way that we mean nothing to them. |

It doesn't matter if you pay or not, your presence is worth something to CCP, and withdrawing it will have an impact.
I don't think so, look at Dust right now, they milked it's players, then basically told them to eff off, now the servers are as empty as I've ever seen them, whatever money it was earning wasn't nearly enough to even warrant the use of some tact with the fans. And just the fair probability that they would be going ahead with a new game was enough to have them drop the whole thing like a hot potato. |
