You either had to buy a PS4 or a PC. Either way you would still have to BUY a machine.
I didn't see that many PC players raging about the possibilty of having to buy a PS4 and yet this entire forum is screaming like little children at the prospect of having to buy a PS4.
Most of this forums looks like This to me and probably most of the eve player base.
I do agree that having absolutely nothing presented on Dust at all for FF2014 was a dumb move though.

I wasn't going to buy a PS4, not unless Dust was moving to it. I wasn't happy about it but I would have done it to continue playing a game I enjoy.
I don't see why this is any different.

People have a right to be mad about the announcement, I dont disagree with that. But you can't seriously say that 'no one' is mad about the platform change. I would say of the most who are angry about the announcement... most of them are also angry about the platform change.

Good for you if you have money to spend for CCP, I do have a pc, I bought a PS3 for Dust in priority and played EVE since a while before. Now I will never back or try an other CCP game no more. Dust was traumatic for people. For me it was relevant on CCP's business.

Its just a game and things change. You might want to talk to your doctor about xanax or some other form of anti-anxienty medication. To get this worked up over a game (a free to play game at that) is not healthy.

I have faith (yes, unfounded belief lol) in CCP Shanghai as developers. I truly believe that the reason Dust 514 is such a bad game is because of the PS3.
On their native platform I trust they will create an experience worth playing.

The natural life cycle of the vast majority of console games is to migrate to the new generation when it arrives. It's unquestionably stupid to say that Dust moving to the PS4 in the near future is not a logical expectation for us to have had.
It was reasonable to expect it would transition to the PS4 but not guaranteed. They had a choice between PS4 and PC and they decided on PC. A lot of that has to do with how CCP develops their products.
For example, PC allows for a test server while PS4 does not. PC also allows for rapid iteration on their products, where PS4 requires validation from Sony. During the first year of Legions release I suspect they will be fixing tons of ****, essentially the PC players will be beta testing the product, just like we did for Dust 514 here on the PS3.
Once the experience is polished up a bit and there is no longer a need for constant bug fixes and content iteration, a transition to the PS4 is very viable and likely. Its just that, on the PC, they can make these changes MUCH easier... meaning at the end of the first and second year of legion's release we will have a much more polished product than if it was on the PS4.
What it comes down to is that going PC first into PS4 results in a much stronger product after 2 years than going straight into PS4. Short term it sucks for console players but long term its the better decision. If CCP is anything they are a company that makes decisions based on longer term goals.
