does it seem to you, right now, that legion is being well received? the legion dev blog has 11 likes. those are dev likes almost certainly.
beyond graphics (which means very little to a competitive gamer) what would you say was different about the demo compared to what we have now?

i liked the way the entering a battle screen looked. the hanger with the mercs walking across was kinda neat. the orbital in the distance was neat as well, but other than the things i've mentioned, doesnt seem like there's anything different in that demo that relates to gameplay.
aren't the days of fake effects behind us? isn't that what made MAG and Dust good? knowing that when something happens on the field, someone made it happen.

There will be an advising CPM to help develop the game.
The plans on moving forward are made by veteran designers from fps and mmo backgrounds in both free and pay to play models.
The plans so far are likeable by the cpm and the developers are showing an increasing interest in not only working with the CPM but the community; the fanfest event has made some of them bolder now.
There are a few other things too but it will be up to CCP Rouge to sell the game; it is after all what he was hired to do; Save dust in some shape form or matter and this was his solution.
If not green lit; it will be a scary prospect... while I feel some players may celebrate the event.... I see it being short live after they realize the game is going to die with the platform.
you said nothing in response to my question.

you said nothing in response to my question. okay what we have now is years old about 6 almost while 1.5 player palayble. What legion had was probably a few weeks of existence and a few months on napkins and thinking bubbles., would not suprrise me if the demo whic is days old s also 'not playable'
do you think that was a good way to spend 3 keynotes addressed to us? shouldn't they have had something new to show off if they were trying to show something new?
you also, again, said nothing regarding what was different about that game, minus a vague graphical increase.

I know I'm in a minority, but I actually always liked DUST in general. The one thing I can't accept though, is the one thing that is guaranteed to be fixed with the PC version: The low framerate and accompanying shoddy controls. Add better graphics, add a smarter skill tree (I particularly like that it doesn't begin with a racial choice any longer, which is my main source of frustration), add PVE, add a player-driven economy, add a better separation of sandbox and competitive gameplay, and yes... I'd say that's quite different to what we have now, and it sounds damn cool to boot. I won't hold my breath, but I absolutely want to see it happening.
so, what you really want is all the things that they promised us in 2009.
you and i want the same things.
have you been around long enough to remember their speeches about how the unreal engine will help them enable transition to the next part of dust's existence?

Most of the negative reaction is due ot how CCP handled it. If they had handled the reveal properly, kept us in the loop, and GAF to work on a version for PS4, everyone here would be drooling on it.
if they had a plan, we'd be behind them.
they announced that they have no plan. the thing they've been working on for 4 months doesn't even have a green light, and it looks EXACTLY like what we have now.

First one could have done FAR better... The three presentded are better than nothign at all I say. I would have loved to see Remnant there while not presenting at least being able to poke his brain on how he balances things. and as you noted there is nothing 'new' to show off other than the new 'quaters' which was likely a dummy mockup to give you an idea how'd it look since it was not functional; I mean that is how new all of legion is; I never seen it in real motion before. I never seen the total breakdown on how graphics fedility is; I never seen any of the menues in action just slides of how it would look. It is litterally a project and nowhere near being a game yet. The demo had nothing other than map changes and better animation and graphics; new modes; new means; new tools; just about everything would have been shown if it existed...
forgive me if a 'dummy mockup' wasn't what i was looking for concerning dust 514. at FANFEST.

Considering that Dust will be used as a base for Legion and the limited development time they've had so far with Legion, you shouldn't be surprised that it looks just like Dust except for some graphical improvements. For now, it does seem like Legion has the capability to achieve the Dust vision. You can't give it a thumbs down just yet.
i hear call of duty 2 really realized all those visions that call of duty one had.

and, do you believe that the demo we saw is worth waiting 2 years for another title? i think call of duty or battlefield will have a title ready for us in like 3 months.
