I just had a thought I'd like to share with you guys and gals involved in how recent events went down. We all had our hopes up and had high (thruthfully unreasonably high in hindsight) expectations for this game and we have all invested time and resources into it. What has happened here is for us a very real loss when that time and resources seem to be fueling something we will not be able to enjoy with what we have now.
Psycology states that there are five stages to go through when you're faced with loss
First there's Denial
They announced what? Well the talk of where they are taking dust is coming afterwards, right?
The we've got Anger
IMMA CHARGIN MAH RAGELAZOR!!1!1!11 (not really that cleaned up or harmless but you know what I mean. You've seen it.
Next up is Bargaining
I don't like this, but if you can promise us we can keep our SP in the new game or get the aurum transferred or.. Something!
The fourth step in the grieving process is Depression
I will never game again. Or enjoy a game again. Or trust a company again.
Eventually the last step when faced with the inevitable is acceptance.
I am personally in the third stage I think. I would like to get something worthwhile out of the time and cash I've spent and I hope that CCP might still be convinced to develop dust in a different direction from legion so that both games might live on. Barring that I'd love to get something that isn't just a valvE hat or a WoW mount (in other words some bullshit collectors item) in the new game.
Because I know myself, I like the New Eden setting more than i dislike CCP at the moment.
Oh and Logibro, I know you're lurking the forums. This post right here is why we're all so angry. Talk to a psychologist about crisis management, and how to best go about it because that is what your job here right now is. You've hyped us on a vision that is not going to come to pass for some of us. You folks at CCP need to get better at expectation management and chill the PR department down a notch. I would not like to be in your shoes the coming weeks. Don't take it personally though, I bet it's mostly coming from people above you. Don't go suicidal. It's life :)

Your problem is that most console players can't read past the first sentence or two, so of course it's going to drop off. |
