Legally, 11 is impossible. Also, 12 should be extended to " Still runs brand new games with medium graphics settings in 5-7 years without needing to be upgraded." But then look at all the things you can to besides gaming on a PC, that you can to do with a PS4/XB1. It just isn't fair to compare them like that. It is true that PC allows upgradability and modding of games, and while modding some games sounds like fun, its not a huge selling point for me. I'm also more interested in not having to upgrade than being able to. What I am trying to say is that just telling us console players to go get a PC to play Legion is having no effect. I don't want a PC it isn't my thing. I want Legion on PS4.
I think there's a problem with either/or. For the record yes I own the PS3 and I own a pc. I think alienware is crap as my desktop is an i7, 24gb ram and running two nvidias. My pc is a behemoth but Legion *should* have been both platforms for one reason: greater game base increases the odds of player interest and also adds the unique experiences that one side would never know. If CCP bothered to ever play MAG let alone watch videos of it, they would have dozen ideas on how they could've tweaked their game in the beginning to avoid the problems it now suffers from: proto stomping, overpowered weapon imbalances, how too much new content and ignoring base game issues result in a more broken game down the road.
I won't get Legion solely out of principle and belief it will fail; you can change the Dust engine but you can't change the people who work on it. apparently. Different game, same mistakes, so why buy into it? This isn't an Apple versus Windows, iOS versus Android. It's a game that can be made to be mutually exclusive. If there's anything that technology also taught us is that no matter how flashy, how much special effects are present or how good the tech is in making the game, if the basics don't work it'll suck. Anyone remember all of the buzz Star Wars Episode 1 made with it's "updated graphics and technology" to progress the storyline. All I remember was falling asleep until a saber fight scene broke out and I didn't know initially who was who.
The idea that Dust is outdated because it's supporting the PS3 is like saying the core mechanic issues are not because the developers can't fix it but it's the PS3 fault. What's next, the dog chewed the USB drive that all the code fixes were on? |
