I am going to get one gaming platform. Not two. Just one.
I like PS exclusive games. I like controllers vastly more than mkb for gaming in 90% of games.
My choice of gaming platform is PS4, not a gaming PC. I would rather have a PS4 and play the other exclusives I like than getting a PC to play Legion. I just want Legion on PS4 as well, because I'm not getting a Gaming PC to play 1 game while using a control input that I don't like for FPSs.
How is it so damn hard for some of you PC Elitist to understand that not everyone wants to game on a PC?

Cyrus Militani wrote:I updated my initial post. If anyone has more experience in building a PC gaming rig I will update my initial post with that build. My goals for a build are:
- Cost is between $400-500 - Slim form-factor - The size of the PS4 approx. - HDMI port for plugging into the TV. - Meets recommended requirements for Unreal 4. - Is capable of using PS3 / PS4 controllers (although admittedly I left out bluetooth). - Will last long enough and be upgradable enough to run Legion with future updates.
Clearly I did not meet these goals as well as I had hoped.
I know there are far more concerns with Legion than switching platforms. My concerns are about SP transfers. I just wanted to show other players that had concerns about console that they can build a PC console. They don't need to sit at a desk in-front of a monitor.. They can build a rig that sits in their living-room and sit on the couch with their feet kicked up just as well. It should have a bluray drive as well.

Build a PC that has:
1.) Equal or greater power than a PS4 2.) <$550USD price tag for the whole package 3.) Bluray Drive 4.) HDMI port 5.) Small size (doesn't need to be tiny like a PS4, but small enough that you can take it places easily and without hassle) 6.) Dualshock 4 price included (+$60) Sixaxis support as well. 7.) Comes with 1 new AAA title(+$45) 8.) A decent mouse keyboard will be required for doing non-gaming activities(+ aprox. $30) 9.) Capture Card.(Share button yo!) 10.) Runs "Legion"
These next two may be a bit difficult. 11.) Runs PlayStation's Exclusive titles such as Killzone and Gran Turismo, titles that I am a fan of. 12.) Still runs brand new games in 5-7 years without needing to be upgraded.
If your magical box meets all of these requirements, I'll get a PC.
I hope now you guys can see why consoles are what some people want.

Legally, 11 is impossible. Also, 12 should be extended to " Still runs brand new games with medium graphics settings in 5-7 years without needing to be upgraded."

But then look at all the things you can to besides gaming on a PC, that you can to do with a PS4/XB1. It just isn't fair to compare them like that. It is true that PC allows upgradability and modding of games, and while modding some games sounds like fun, its not a huge selling point for me. I'm also more interested in not having to upgrade than being able to. What I am trying to say is that just telling us console players to go get a PC to play Legion is having no effect. I don't want a PC it isn't my thing. I want Legion on PS4.

I hope now you guys can see why consoles are what some people want. Easy when you forget: player made content 4 free (mods & maps), Steam offers, the chance to play all genres (like mmo or strategy), liberty of use controllers, mouse/keyboard, occulus rift, be able to do anything and play/use all kinds of extensions (mp4, avi, etc), not need to pay a monthly fee to play content you have already paid with your purchase (online), the chance to update and If you re not a graphic ***** at an amazing good price, the compatibility of most of PC games (not like on consoles where you must wait and pay a new time to get a HD/ stupid update version of your games), its own exclusives (example Star citizen), etc etc.... If your magical PS4 get this I'll get it. Two different kinds of people. I'm not as interested in what you are and vice versa.

but I will go out and buy the next generation of whatever console every 5-7 years.. people that is called upgrading.
so stop saying you don't want a PC because you don't want to pay for upgrades.. if you are a real gamer you already own a PC and a PS3 and a xbox360. As well as looking at getting a PS4 on top of that... and you do upgrade the computer every 5-7 years.
no you don't want a PC because you are PS fan boys and think that's all you need..
now stop lying to yourselves and just admit it.
me I have a pc 360 and ps3... and getting a 2nd generation PS4.. why??
because I game a lot and want as many options as possible. You lost all credibility at "if you are a real gamer...".
Elitism, folks...

Question time
Say I get a PS4, because I see it as a better alternative to current PCs. 2 years after I get it, the warranty expires and it begins truly lagging behind gaming PCs as far as quality is concerned. Would it be possible for me to upgrade and jailbreak my PS4 at that point to basically turn it into a PC/PS4 hybrid monster?perhaps even jury rig a bit...

Maybe if you have a degree in electronics, but then what would be the point if no game for the platform would allow you to increase the quality. I don't think you understand. What I have in mind is to keep the PS4 working as a PS4, but have the option to switch out hardware/hard drive so I could just turn it directly into a PC with the ability to switch back to a PS4 for exclusive titles.
