I mean... We all know DUST's future was not PS3, and some day it will have to be ported to new system.
And this is what happened in FanFest. We (yes WE, not they) are moving to PC platform.
Why so rage on PC? Why majority of you wanted it to be ported to random other platform?
Why PS4? Why not Xbox One or WiiU? (well maybe not WiiU...) Steam Box?
I guess it will be the same rage QQ if it would be ported not to PC but to other platform too
It doesn't matter if it would be ported to PC, PS4, XBOX or other... You still HAVE to buy other platform
So why not PC? With that you don't have to painfully port it again like from PS4 to PS5 in the future.
let's admit it - we all knew one day this thing would happen. So it better faster then later.
I support EVE Legion, but the message was very badly delivered...

The community wants it on PS4 rather than PC because the community is comprised entirely of PS3 owners.
And as we know, PS3 owners are more likely than the average person to be console gamers and Sony fanboys.

I don't really see the point in doing this, but...
CCP said one thing, they laid out plans to their fans for Dust, they promised something and delivered something entirely different. People (most of them, I'm sure there are a few who are) aren't raging at PC, they're simply annoyed at CCP for lying to them. The message was poorly delivered, as your signature so clearly points out, and the earlier promises were all broken, thus the anger.
Quite frankly, I wouldn't buy any system for this game. It's fun and I certainly enjoy it, but between the broken promises and the fact that Dust just isn't that good, and the way Legion is looking at the moment, it won't change anything. Given a few years, maybe that will be different, but CCP is still an inexperienced company when it comes to FPS games, and until Dust (or whatever it gets renamed to) is nearly perfect, it will never be worth the $400+ price tag to get a new gaming system.
Oh, and if there's any rage towards PC at this point, I'd guess it would be partially because of the PC elitists trolling the forums over what system Legion is scheduled for. People are mad at the moment and trolls have an easy chance to fan the flames.

I have nothing against PC, i've played old games on my PC, simply because gaming PC are expensive, i've browsed the internet on alienware site, it redirects me on dell site, the crappiest desktop cost 549Gé¼ (+149Gé¼ than PS4), promotion on gaming PC made me laugh, the cheapest of all cost 1249Gé¼ (definitely more than a PS4).
So, why i want legion on PS4?
Simply because i don't have a serious job and i can't find a new one, but with litle jobs i can somehow manage to save enough money to buy a PS4.
It was fun till it lasted...

A large portion of the community is comprised of console gamers like myself. Which is no surprise considering Dust is a console exclusive. Without a strong stance on bringing Legion to next gen consoles, many us feel like we're being left behind. There's other issues as to why people are upset, but that's why many want/wanted a PS4 version.
Also, many console gamers just don't play games on PC, whether it's by choice are not. I personally only have a slightly old laptop which I use for work/school. |

Alright. Why can't it be in both? Why does it have to be one or the other? PS4+PC players in the same matches sounds stellar, IMO.

We know CCP, Once they finished the PC version they will cancel PS4 version OR get it out 3 years later because they will be unable to Port it on PS4.
At the contrary if they start dev on PS4 it will be easy to port on PC and to make Cross-Plateform.
On the other hand, PS3 owners are way more likely to have PS4 than a PC gamer.
We (Dust) were the "beta" for Project Legion, at least we could have the possibility to play it on OUR plateform.
We don't ask a PS4 exclusive, we ask a PS4 / PC Cross-Plateform, released AT THE SAME TIME, Develloped AT THE SAME TIME
But right know they had started develloping on PC, and they said would "maybe" port it on PS4 once the game is finished and ready to release on PC, DAMN HELL NO. 
We all know this "maybe" and the "Soon Tm", if they start working like that we will NEVER have it on PS4.
Once PC Version is over, they will said "F.u.c.k you PS4".
If they start Dev the 2 plateform at the same time and on a Cross-plateform vision, THEN it will be possible, not one after the other. |

Really Ulysses, even Captain Picard can't *facepalm* enough with your statements. Let me reiterate a few things that I know for a fact:
- Xbox/Microsoft does charge a fee for any game released on its console
- Said console still charges for multiplayer
- Dust 514 would need to contend with convincing a community to "buy" into EvE; even if you didn't pay for Aurum you still had to pay for the multiplayer
- Dust on the PC has a decently sized community for PC gamers
- Dust on the PS3 may have limitations but the PS console didn't have a strong FPS presence as far as multiplayer games go giving CCP an easy opportunity to tap into players looking for a FPS game (MAG was shutting down and Resistance was along gone).
- Steam had only offered Dust after getting enough votes and this is one of the only other main outlets the PC community would've known had they never played either EvE or heard about CCP
- CCP's overall online presence is pretty small; that's not to say anything about the company but their first major title was EvE and that took several years before it survived as a game and grew. Versus other studios they don't have the same resources and capital for titles. The Sony console made sense from a business aspect.
One lesson about the video game community as well is that it's community vs. business; it's always the preferred method to make and code the game for something that is easier and then to port it to another platform and not vice-versa. If CCP is hurting on the capital end, they may opt for a PS4 platform only because the financial incentives are there. However I don't think that's the case.
If we were thinking from a business aspect, Legion would have to go against Bungie's Destiny and I don't think Legion, with Dust being a paperweight and being forever linked until the game launches, would win this battle. Destiny would be a title more console players would pick up versus PC. Legion would be able to tap into the market that that Destiny isn't focusing on: PC users.
*IF* CCP was confident about their game and their resources going into the future, Dust would even be on the Xbox; if you have a killer game you try to expand it to as many markets as possible. Dust isn't a killer game and CCP doesn't really have anything on the table that let's it brag about what Legion can be. Bungie can at least put its reputation behind Destiny in making a game with a history of proven understanding in the genre it's aiming for.
I would also point out that Dust has shown how different the PC gamers are versus PS3 users. The former might relate Dust to "World of *whatever*", counter-strike and the like. PS3 users think of MAG, Resistance 2 and Unchartered franchise. They don't always have overlapping visions and beliefs in what Dust should be and Legion developers may prefer the opinions and attitudes of PC gamers. It's not like catering to a specific crowd is bad but it does make it seem like they really aren't confident at all about Legion. |
