So... I've had a good ol time trolling the forums the last few days but I do want to say. To all console-only players out there that are troubled by the lack of planned PS4 support, I feel your pain and understand your rage. This is probably one of the most invested playerbases i've ever seen in a game, and is probably the reason I continue to come back, despite hating almost every facet of this game at the moment.
I think we can all agree that in true CCP Shanghai fashion, the information revealed at Fanfest this year was done in the worst possible way imaginable. But lets look at the situation a little more closely...
I want to link a specific portion of the CCP Presents! keynote that happened earlier today. Specifically the portion where the CTO unveils a new project called 'EVE Universe Services'. Its essentially a login engine very similar to what blizzard has done with Battle.net's launcher. The primary thing to take home from this is that they want to unify each game under the same characters. This means I could play EVE, Valkyrie, and Dust all as ZDub 303 instead of making three separate accounts. Its a neat feature, not necessary though. The idea is though, that they want to integrate all three games completely.

Next, is similar sentiments echoed by Hilmar.

He essentially states that the company is unifying all of its assets under New Eden, and on the PC.
So lets think about this for a moment. Regardless of WHY it is, we all know CCP went deep in the red for 2013. We suspect that a lot of that has to do with R&D costs for Valkyrie and WoD. I, personally, think this probably raised some serious red flags though. "Holy ****, we are hemorrhaging money on assets and we need to make sure these investments make sense in the long term."
While CCP Rouge is claiming that the transition is completely his idea.. I suspect it goes a lot deeper than that. It seems like CCP as a whole is a little worried about the state of their company and in today's economy you can't afford to throw millions after bad.
We can see that Valkyrie started on the PC and is moving quickly, through a partnership with project Morpheus onto the PS4. However... Dust/Legion is in damage control. I agree wholeheartedly with IWS when he said Dust died May 14th 2013 and has been on life support for the last 366 days. This game needs some drastic measures taken for it to become relevant, and they have all but admitted at Fanfest that the PS3 will not allow them to create the game that we all want Dust to be.
So I ask you, community of Dust 514, this question:
Would you rather Dust 514 was cancelled like World of Darkness, or moved to the PC with a possibility of moving to the PS4 once the game, and the dev team, is ready for it?

Thank you CCP Rouge.
