Yes, we all feel betrayed and they presented this in the worst way possible. The only people who are happy are PC players who never played dust or PC players who bought a ps3 just for now. The rest of us are kind of left in the muck. We console players may or may not see a Legion ps4 release and it's upsetting, I for one have done my share of boo-hooing and raging. We can't let this knock us down, we need to come calm down and talk with the respective DEVs and other CCP members instead of just jumping from conclusion to conclusion and acting like animals. Frankly, I'm not a PC gamer and probably never will be, I'm just as upset by all this as you guys are. But making this a vicious and toxic environment, where no DEV would set foot is the worst thing we can do at this point. Let's wait, then judge. We've given the game 2 years, what's 2 weeks? I enjoy playing with you jerks, and the jerks from my corp. both you and then helped me get though a really bad patch in my life. Hell, I made some friends through dust. Something I've never done in a video game before. QuickGloves is not a well liked guy, and a lot if us still sent our support and tried to help where we could. I'm not the most well liked/knowed guy, and I'm am not the best player(understatement) but I still feel like I'm a member of a real community. We aren't EVE, we are Dust. I'm a Dust player who never played an FPS with dual-analog setup before, because it's completely deluded to play an FPS like that. I still did because of the vision. I have no issue with a PC version, as long as it won't have ****** system requirements like Planetside 2. And, knowing CCP, it totally will. Note that my PC can run Crysis decently at medium to high settings, while Planetside completely fucks itself over. The issue here is not the PC version. It's what the they did to the community: - Make a keynote that essentially consists of " you" after hyping up that and claiming that all Dust players should be eager to see the keynote - Selling multiple batches of Omega boosters in the time preceeding fanfest - Giving no information whatsoever about Dust's future. Legion is obviously not ready to go, but it's also obvious that they aren't planning on doing anymore significant patching for Dust. "We will still support it" my ass. That's obviously just a phrase to calm the community down. I LIKE what they've shown of Legion. But I won't ever be touching a CCP title again. ** you.

The only game that has cost me comparably was EVE, and I thought I'll contribute as much as I can to make this the game I want along EVE. Even if all of that was taken behind the barn and shot to make way for Legion, I'd be happy. I'd be happy that CCP gets another chance and a fresh start to make this game work. A complete re-branding is needed to dump the name of Dust that carries a dooming sound of failure. Dust needs to be forgotten in order for future potential players to take a look at Legion past the horrible critique of past launch. While sounding overly negative, I personally loved Dust for what it had potential for. Chromosome was one of the best games I had played, with all the anticipation of the launch build. Uprising killed it all in one fell swoop. Reverting back to the Chromosome stage on PC allows for another chance at doing Uprising 2.0, and this time CCP might get it completely right and ressurrect the game. Ressurrection won't work on failed games if the name carries a taint of failure, though, and for CCP to go "Legion" instead of "Dust 514 II" is a convincingly good call. CCP has full grasp of the reality, and the reset looks much more beliveable with the name change. I just might throw cash at it again... if not for anything else, just for the fits of tantrum if it fails.

This Dust / Legion scam is just the remix of an old snatch n grab routine. I feel like a magician just told me how his trick was done.

I haven't seen any reports - other than unsubstantiated kneejerk reactions here on the forums - saying Dust isn't going to be updated(the only thing I've seen confirmed is that there will be no drone PvE in Dust). Legion is an alpha with fairly obvious optinization issues and probably only one map thus far(you can remove detail from a map fairly easily, adding it takes a lot of time). That being said I would have liked Dust514 and Legion presentations separated.

The PC port with a rebranding to get rid of the Dust514 name looks very much like a "phoenix" contigency to me. PS3 didn't work out but CCP has a launched game. CCP burns the PS3 version down, saving as much cash as possible during the twilight season, and then goes all in on providing a full trio of New Eden games on PC: EVE Legion Valkyrie This is an all-in call to make a sustainable sandbox universe, as EVE is inevitably going to suffer from player retention issues any aging game suffers. The gambit is to make the three games ultimately support each other and to get everything possible out of the link, to keep it running. PLEX is probably going to be an universal asset, or rather AURUM. Invest in CCP games, buy CCP AURUM, play in the CCP environment which is New Eden. Sony, for reference, is doing the same with SOE accounts and multipass (leeloo voice).

This community you speak of, ....... most of it came from MAG. MAG was a great game with great potential. Sony shutdown operations on MAG which resulted int he end of the game. Dust is going through a similar transition, so this community has felt this pain already. Quickgloves, and a ton of people can tell you exactly who I am because I have been playing with this community since 2005. In that time this "community" has suffered the loss of many great games such as Dust, and MAG. If you understood the various issues that have plagued these gamers you may see your stance on the anti raise hell a bit differently. I see a request for a release of our funds via class action law suit coming. Even shot down I see a challenge coming from somewhere. You do not develop a large fan base without coming across a couple lawyers , or investigators of some sorts. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned I heard quoted once, or twice. CCP understood there would be blow back, and at some point a convo took place about said blowback. The result of that convo was just revealed, and the impression implied was that they do not give a damn how we feel about it.

The PS3 is not a fail platform, it has some of the best last gen games, but it was clear from the beginning it wasn't the right platform for Dust to be on. CCP tried and it obviously didn't work as expected. CCP also just stated they will continue to maintain Dust and still try to do what they can. If you can't see the positives of a switch to a more powerful and freeform platform to release on, you're not being sincere and/or only want mediocrity. CCP Rouge should be stunned, because it was a craptastic way to announce the game. But it is still the only way to get to the experience that Dust deserves to be. Micheal Jackson died for my sins

Meanwhile, in the land of sane people, I have a notebook that can play Crysis comfortably. And I know that Legion won't run on it, because CCP are just as much of a team of dicksucking troglodytes as the Planetside 2 guys, who still haven't managed to get their game to run on Crysis-capable PCs with sufficient stats, even on full potato mode. The PC port also won't fix the general issues with CCP. If you actually go for Legion and think that they will fullfill their promises this** time, you are deluded. Don't forget that they made THE EXACT SAME PROMISES multiple years in a row. A gaming PC isn't cheap. For 400Gé¼ I can buy myself an external HDD or a new phone or dozens of games. Why should I spend it on a device THAT I DON'T NEED? If 400Gé¼ is pocket change, then I'll just go out this year and buy a Surface Pro 3, which will cost me about 1000Gé¼ and actually enrichen my life, instead of a redundant computing system.
