If they really are unsure that Legion will ever be a commercial project, it seems weird to also basically give up on Dust at the same time. Now they've got two games that are sort of being worked, both with futures up in the air.
Doesn't seem like a good way to make a strong or successful game. If you're going to can Dust and work on Legion, fully commit to it. Don't do this, "Well we don't know what we're doing or what it will be." Otherwise we could end up with a **** game again, or even worse, no game at all. |

So, either Legion is a go, or the entire idea gets scrapped.
DUST is dead either way. I agree, although that doesn't seem to be how they see it:

I get his point, but this isn't the type of confidence I like to see. |

DUST Fiend wrote:They're just playing politics to give DUSTies some hope. I actually see that same comment as being very confident. Confident in their ability to get right back on the horse should they fall off.
All I know is that DUST can never be much more than it is now, and Legion is the only logical next step forward. I know, I agree with you. Dust is finished and is never coming back. But when you just announce a new game that is essentially cancelling out the current one, I don't like to hear someone say "hey this might not work either." Although I also see your interpretation of it.
My point is that clearly they are focusing on Legion, but they just seem afraid to admit it. Sure maybe it doesn't become a commercial product, but it's still the teams primary focus, be confident about it. |
