No, **** bag, some of us actually want Legion to succeed. Yeah, CCP obviously learned nothing about public relations since Incarna. Yes, they royally ****** up at Fanfest. Let's have our Weekend of Rage.
After emotions die down some of us are going to try and make Legion succeed. |

After emotions die down some of us are going to try and make Legion succeed. When? 2020? Being on the PC won't magically give CCP any idea how to design better game modes or become better at balancing the existing content. It'll just look prettier.
For those of us who played EVE in 2011 this fanfest is a bit like Deja Vu. CCP got a little too big for its britches and decided to ignore the playerbase because they felt their vision was more important than customer feedback. Here we are 3 years later and CCP Shanghai is having their Incarna moment.
I'm pissed off like most of you but I also know that CCP Shanghai is going to become more malleable in the next few months. They'll start to really listen to player feedback. They'll become more attentive to complaints. Suddenly, things that were too technically challenging will become possible. It's amazing what fear of unemployment does to a company.
Now, we can get mad and **** our pants and swear to never buy a CCP product ever again. We're certainly justified in feeling that way. Or we can can dry our faces off and hold Shangai's feet to the fire and make sure Legion isn't a horrible flop like Dust. Legion might work, it might not, but we gain nothing by salting the fields and burning bridges.

Legion might work, it might not, but we gain nothing by salting the fields and burning bridges. I see we're discussing the right issue: Is it worthwhile to invest into Legion with thoughts, ideas and hope? You're being rather optimistic. My standpoint is fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm not saying I won't have a peek at Legion once in a while, but I will tread extremely carefully. And I'd advise everyone else to not put any trust in these people, too.
If I had left after Incarna I would have missed out on 2 years of amazing ship rebalancing, new graphical updates, tiericide and new ships.
I've been with Dust since private Beta. I'd be lying if I said Dust was anything but a disappointment month after month. At least CCP sounds like they're committing to the sandbox instead of a lobby shooter with Legion's move to the PC. Granted, I'll be hesitant to drop any significant cash on Legion until I'm certain they're serious. Unfortunately, CCP's choice of blindsiding their playerbase really hurt whatever trust they've built up with the community and that trust will be hard to earn back. |
