Cut and paste from my response to your fellow soul-selling coward's posts-
Quote:So essentially, you're a coward, and you valued your position of pretend internet power/prestige and your vacation to Iceland more than your own dignity and the feelings of the playerbase you supposedly represent.
I personally would have broken the NDA to warn people not to buy anything for a game that was getting thrown in the trash - the CPM told everyone things were fine and encouraged us to keep playing, keep spending. The very least you all could have done would be to resign in a show of solidarity in protest, without violating the NDA at all, and that would have been enough for many of us to know something very bad was happening behind the scenes.
Instead, you towed the company line. And for what? You got a trip to Iceland? You going to be CPM on EVE: Legion even though none of you wanted to be CPM anymore, right? I guess that meant you didn't want to be CPM for Dust, since you knew what was going to happen to it, and knew there was no point.
All of you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves, even more than CCP itself. At least they're in it for the money. You're just lapdogs doing what your master tells you for whatever bone they decide to throw you every once in a while. |

Nova Knife wrote: And finally, For those asking why we did not resign; In no way was the decision for us to not resign, somehow selfish. To suggest that is like... the most ignorant thing I could possibly think of. You cannot imagine how stressful, how agonizingly frustrating the -job- of being a councilbro is. Yes, we could have ended our initial table flipping with a "**** you guys, we're out"" but what good would that have served? It would have been an immature, knee jerking reaction. This would have been an easy excuse and saved us a stupidly crazy amount of frustration and free us from giving nearly all of our free time to CCP and the Community.
Choosing to resign would have been far more selfish. We carried on because of how passionate we are to the concept of Dust, the vision that made all of the playerbase cream their jeans years ago that was never realized. This was our chance to make sure that CCP had someone on their case to make sure they did not ruin their chance to realize this vision. This was our change to make sure that CCP had someone to say "NO" when they were sitting around pitching ideas. This is a necessary part of any design, and having those people NOT be on payroll means they have nothing to fear from saying NO to upper management. There is no fear of termination or lack of promotion, or any of the negative consequences that usually come from pissing your boss off.
This has nothing to do with sucking CCP off, or wanting to hold on to some strange, egotistical notion that we somehow have some kind of power or throne to hold on to. You need to realize that we spend the majority of our time telling CCP they're freaking morons, and that ass-kissing is about the furthest thing any of us actually do.
One way or another though... Now that Legion is unveiled, the wait for the elections has become significantly shorter. This was something we did demand though, because it would have been stupid to have candidates elected at fanfest and then have them find out that they are on CPM1 as a console player who has no PC. People running for CPM1 -DESERVED- to know exactly beforehand.
I'm not sure what else I can say about that, but you are more than welcome to ping me on Skype (nova_knife) to actually talk to me in person (Scales being the exception, none of these cpmhate alts have ever really taken the time to engage me, and I fully welcome hem to do so. You're obviously passionate about the game, let's chat.)
First, resigning would have let the community know something bad was up. Instead of telling us everything's fine, keep playing, keep spending money, wait for fanfest, etc, we would have known something bad was going to happen. Instead, you towed the company line publicly, no matter what you claim you did privately (funny that there's no way to prove or disprove anything you claim happened in private though... NDA!!!!!!!1111oneone) you supported the game in the eyes of everyone in the community.
Also, CPM hate alt? lol, is that the best comeback you have? Aside from calling IWS on his retardation for the past several years, even before he was CPM, I've never had a problem with any of the CPM and you know it. You just have no other defense for yourself because what you did is not defensible and you know it. But please, if it helps you sleep better at night, call me a "CPM hate alt", I'm sure you cowards need something to help you sleep at night these days. |
