The change over from PS3 to PC has been known about. To be clear, I don't argue with this decision as it exists. I understand the reason, even if I am disappointed. However, the question remains, why is it for the last 6 months we have been told that new things were coming and we were expected to continue to shell out to progress in a game that was at the end of it's lifecycle?
If CCP and/or CPM had been honest in October 2013, when they were aware they could progress no further on the PS3, and had flat out stated as much along with closing down (Or hell even stating that it was going to the PC Project) the AUR market, would it have made a difference in your choosing to purchase things from the AUR market?
Why did we continue to get the false promise of things that will NEVER make it into DUST 514? Half a year is FAR too long to say "Oops, our bad", as I'm sure the multiple Sony Refund threads have shown.
Where was the transparency CCP?

I know that's what they did. I want to know why.

Not a good enough reason for lying to the entire playerbase before shafting them.

Even if we accept "Okay, it's business" on CCP's part, why was there no forewarning from the supposed 'watchers' (that being the CPM)? It means that they were implicitly accepting of this, as that's all that has been shown by any of them.

I am asking as a reasonable person, in a reasonable manner. All I am hoping for is a reasonable response. If I must keep this up for 6 months, I have no problem with that.

Where was the transparency CCP? I wonder why CCP has not many any response to the players? A smart thing to due is provide a link to one of the interviews with the people at fanfest to help explain concerns. I am hoping we will get explanations really soon with real questions concerning the future of Dust, EVE, and Legion.
So far the most we've gotten in lieu of an explanation is "Look at the shiny new thing". Either that or, as earlier in IRC when Logibro logged in and gave me my shiny new signature, "Don't come at me, bro! I'm here of my own volition! I ban you!" which has hardly helped matters.
I have asked simple questions:
1) If you are planning to continue to support Dust, as the EP claims, what if anything has been done For Dust specifically in the last three months.
and
2) The question in this thread "If you knew it was a dead end six months ago, why not be straight forward with the people who are supporting your game?"
Deafening silence has followed all of the above.

Azri Sarum wrote:My guess is that they have not yet finalized their plans.
In one of the talks they said that it was not a matter of if they wanted to transfer over progression (they did), but more a matter of if it would technically be possible. Things like SP and AUR they could, but it sounded like there were serious concerns over whatever the contract with SONY would allow, to the point that as of fanfest, they did not have an answer.
My guess is that they kept everything running with the intention of allowing everything to transfer over. That might be getting mired in a legal mess, but that was their intentions / hopes. You could say that it was good intentions / wishful thinking that got them in to this situation.
As for moving away from the PS3, everyone knew that was going to happen, sooner rather than later. The game was clearly struggling on the PS3, its performance was rubbish. While most (myself included) expected a move to PS4 to be announced today, the reality is that some people would have had to buy a new system to keep playing no matter the choice. I think fewer people will need to buy PC's (since many have them already). A move to PS4 would have required everyone to buy them since its brand new.
Now as for their keynote, what they really needed to do was come to us with a clear plan. They did not do this. Frankly, they came to us with a shiny tech demo, some graphical eye candy, and then proceed to not answer any of the questions people had. What they needed to do was start by saying they had reached the limit of what they could do on the PS3, announced it was moving to the PC, and ditched all of the BS ambiguity and half answers they gave us. The way they went about this strikes me as very odd, perhaps their sony contract is hampering them more that we realize.
As I said in my initial post. I understand the reasons for the change in platform and that is not the basis of my argument. What is, is that they did not bother to make mention of it to anyone outside of the CPM for 6 months, and in that time continued to run "Buy Our Stuff" events. If they intended to keep it going with the idea that things would transfer, that still does not preclude or excuse them from saying, again half a year ago, that the promised features could not be delivered on the current game, and that they were working on a new iteration on a different platform.

It means that they were implicitly accepting of this, as that's all that has been shown by any of them. Its our responsibility as consumers to punish/reward business, I just went grocery shopping and passed on Egyptian potatoes, bought a small brand ketchup I like instead of Heinz and milk from a small local dairy I also cancelled two eve accounts (left 2 active) not just because it made me feel good but because its my responsibility as a consumer. I will probably activate those accounts again if I feel I need them at some point, but ccp will lose alot more from that then I paid for omega boosters for the two sp scam events. "Its just business" should never be a valid excuse from a consumers point of view. Voting with your wallet is one of the (few remaining) redeeming qualities of capitalism. :)
And that has been going on in spades the last 24 hours. However, they have been answering the two least important questions ever, thus far, and once again ignoring these.
