You could spend that much if you want an uber tricked out, overclocked beast of a rig or you could spend $700-1000 and get something that will run most new games on high to max settings. Nice mouse $60+, LCD 2ms monitor ~$200 (or plug it in to your TV). Viruses? I haven't gotten one in 15 years.
